Pieces of meat and veg stuck on a stick and cooked = shish kabob/kebab
Pitta/Naan filled with salad and slices of beef/chicken from a large, vertical rotisserie type machine = doner kebab |

I had the best doner kebab ever in Stuttgart. It was crazily good.
I still prefer a good Yiros over a kebab though |
