i'm in the market, as it were
current car's a ing box and doesn't go a month without something going wrong, and i'm ready to throw in the towel with it
been looking at 95-96 saab 90 convertibles, anyone got personal experience with the cars?
and for the record, these are the two i've found:
the
'96 , and the '95
also found a '99 sebring on craigslist for a decent price, but the more i think about it, i've driven a saab 90 before and liked it. idk
opinions? |

Don't buy a european car while you're a student man, they're expensive as all to fix if something goes wrong.
Just get something cheap and reliable. |

see some people told me a mazda would be reliable

Newer mazdas are ok. Older...no.
And it's the parts that will cost you with Euro cars, not so much the labour.
Get a celica or something, or a corolla. Pretty boring cars, sure, but they are reliable and cheap to run/fix. |

hah yeah i had a 95 mazda
i seriously don't think there's a single part of that car that hasn't ed up while i've had it :/

k so parts can be expensive, but how reliable would you say they are? (aka will they need very often?) |

Over rated reliability, like cheaper BMW's.
Being it's a turbo, mandatory 5000km service with high temperature tolerant, premium oil and fairly hard on fuel. Stick to japanese or domestic cars if you just want something functional for A-B commuting. |

A better question is, what if it's unreliable? How much is that going to cost you? What if it's as unreliable as your mazda, but the parts are triple (or more) the price? |

i'm gonna be using it a load
i go easy on my car, but yeah. i drive a lot. i work delivery, and make semi-frequent trips out to boston
yeah if it was just for driving to school and back i'd just get a moped :p |

Yeah, yank cars except their top end stuff is mostly awful, but it's cheap, simple crud that works alright and won't really cause too much grief when you take it into a mechanic.
I've been sniffing around for a new car too :(
It's a pain in the bum
