but man. if the bears lose this game, the bears either need to reevaluate their offensive playbooks, or they need to rethink the quarterback status. i don't think they can afford a quarterback who keeps turning the ball over in tight games against high caliber teams like the chargers. |

This one isn't on Rex, though. He's been hurried all day, and his only turnover was Berrian's fault, anyway. He wasn't great, but he certainly didn't cost them the game.
On the other hand, as expected, Cedric Benson is completely failing at life. He's slow, weak, has no agility whatsoever, and can't hold onto the ball. He's like a bloated Rashaan Salaam. Yes, I went there. |

i don't even understand football but i really enjoy yelling "YOU ING CUNT!" at the TV whenever it's obvious that someone did something stupid.

we can make a whole bunch of fingerpointing (believe me i did the same during the 2000-2004 seasons during the aaron brooks and saints). yeah cedric benson does look like crap, but there is a reason why many people appoint the quarterback as the leader of the offensive team. yeah he can take some load off his shoulders by handing it off to the running back, but he has to make the right playcalls at the line, read the defenses, make the right play ad hoc, and lead his team to victory.
grossman isn't doing that with a 12/23 145 yds stat line. he isn't adding any type of fire to the bears fuel. then again, we can talk about the types of weapons he has to support him ......... |

| the offensive line is mediocre, and if grossman had today's numbers each week, they'd be in the playoffs. When your starting RB AVERAGES 2 yards per carry, fumbles twice, & repeatedly fails in short yardage situations, though, it takes a hell of a lot to win. |

true. hopefully, chicago reevaluates after watching game tapes of their game against the chargers. we don't want to see green bay and the favre or tavaris jackson and the vikings win the norris division (1-0) ..............
note:
notice i put "the" in front of favre. he has come into "spoken status" like ohio state .... |

| meh. the bears will still win the division easily, but they need to trade or waive benson & stick to a peterson/wolfe system. |

i say this. if they can open talks with curtis martin, and have him unretire with a super bowl hopeful team like the bears, i am sure martin will jump on that opportunity anytime. i am sure he know the bears have a better chance at the super bowl than his time with the Jets. i am sure if they can get curtis martin about 13 to 17 carries a game, martin can make an impact for the bears. |

It would be nice, but the Bears are just so stubborn about Benson. They just refuse to acknowledge that they made a bad pick, and it's costing them more & more each day that he's on the team. Thomas Jones was a very good back, & Peterson's a great second option. If they all had been signed as free agents for the same terms, they never would have kept benson. |
