parce que, personally i dont like the crowd and vibe the top 40 or hip hop night would bring..

i think extasie answered it the best, by having an exclusive night for each.. although i still would like to see an only EDM nightclub here in toronto.. it would open up alot of eyes IMO, especially one that has a real proffesional presentation such as circa.. however i realize the chances of it happening are slim..

At least most of those dates are in N/S America or western europe...I've seen some crazy schedules of Asia to Australia to Europe to...etc.

1) that schedule is ing mental
2) (based on it's recent succeses, or lack thereof) it wouldn't surprise me to hear that Subliminal is on it's last legs

I'm sure you will, and I'm sure you'll be able to find something wrong with it to complain about. :p

as long as Circa isn't on a boat that I can't get off of, I'm sure it will be quite enjoyable!

I posted under Katie's account, but anyway, my point was more that ONE hip-hop room in a HUGE club isn't going to ruin anyone's vibe. What it might do though, is introduce a few people to EDM who've never heard it before, which is a good thing. A lot of people sneer at the hip-hop room in Guvvy, and while I myself don't like the characters there and find their whole affair somewhat amusing, I gotta say that I don't see them bothering anyone (it's as if they know they're severely outnumbered in Guv). It's actually kinda funny sometimes seeing this all-out gangsta dude walking through Guv mainroom, hehe.

whoever SpankRock is, they are confirmed for the Oct 6 date for Circa

^ i really hope thats a joke. A "worldclass" night club with a preschool poster/night. Doesn't sound like good marketing to me. Who's going to see a flyer that saying 'randomland' and get drawn in, like i need to go to this!

my first impression from that poster would also imply its a gay club.

Spank Rock are sick!! B-more/miami bass electro stuff... think 2Live Crew with Ed Banger stuff...

And that preschool look, it's the scene man lol.. the hipster scenester stuff which is blowing up all over ... take a look at Justice - D.A.N.C.E. video, or any of the Ed Banger artwork...

AD/D are where it's at right now IMO, they are bringing the acts over and over.. if it was up to me (and could afford it) I would be at the social every weekend witht he lineups they are producing...

I'm excited to see what they can pull off for RandomLand, which by the way I think is a good name since I think they are basically giving that night to three or four promotion groups so each weekend could be a totally different style of entertainment... one week spank rock, the other week could be trance, the other a classic house groove night, then techno the next.. .who knows.

Way to be typical.

Back on topic, Circa's impressing me with how they're going about everything. The club looks fantastic, they've hired the right people... [cough] Alig [cough]... And they're getting at the roots of the scene. The hand drawn flyer is awesome... Harkens back to the original club kid days, when [ahem] Peter Gatien and Michael Alig were behind it all.

Welcome to Toronto!
