[REVIEW] Underworld and James Holden

Great great time yesterday. James Holden blew me away while I was there (showed up around 7). Words cannot describe Underworld's live act. To end the show with Cowgirl, Born Slippy NU.XX, King of Snake, and Jumbo in that order... Woo! Great visuals, great energy. Karl Hyde is a beast and it's amazing to watch him dance around the stage like he did. I don't know what else to say. They used the stage to the fullest and I think everyone there last night was fully entertained. Boston is in for a treat with Underworld and Digweed tonight.

awesome performance from underworld. was way up in the front and it was total sensory overload, from the lights and visuals to watchin karl bounce around like a madman in his sequin shirt and matching sequin studded sneakers :stongue: .

rez->cowgirl :crazy:

holden's set was good as well, thought it was a nice way to start off the night imo. nice mix of tech house and spooky sounding prog. had a great time overall.

The afterparty was dope. Webster Hall was actually much better than expected. The line to get in was a bitch but once you were in, the sound was great. Burridge was dropping the hardest tech house set I've ever heard him play. Was not too crowded and was a lot of fun! I heard pacha was mobbed last night so maybe diggers took the evening crowd...

I had a really great time last night, and it was a great change of scenery...from the live act, to the totally different crowd, to the change of sounds that I am used to.... I was thoroughly entertained. I was especially happy when they pumped it up a bit, and played a couple classics that I love (born slippy of course, and I think the name of the other toon I loved (blast from the past)...was "two months away" or something like that.) Dont know a whole lot about the act itself, but the main singer was a mad man and kept me entertained even in the slow moments. Mere said:"That guy is just special." :) :) lol

Negative: the crowd: holy fak I havent been this pissed at a crowd in quite come time. Holy-crackie-rude-f*ckers. I was getting PLOWED over and elbowed in the face because people were dancing like MAD men in the tighest space EVER. Hello, you cant DO that people!!! I am bruised ffrom head-to-toe this morning.

hahah and I swear I saw 40-50 steven neils there, NO LIE. I even saw one in rain boots. :disbelief :haha: :wtf:

The other negative was the price for the time we got. They played, what... 2-2.5 hours and I payed about $60 with fees, which imo was really dissapointing seeing as I really dont dig holden's slower style (obviously). I know Made needs a higher price tag for prodections like this, but I wont be paying that much again for a 2 hour show ever again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED UNDERWORLD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OKK PEOPLE NEED TO START POSTING PICS FROM LAST NIGHT SO I CAN SEE... I WAS HOME TRAPPED IN MY ROOM PLAYING WITH GLOWSTICKS LISTENING TO ARMIN VAN BUUREN, TIESTO, FERRY CORSTAN, OLKENFOLD, DIGWEED, SASHA, MARCO V... I STILL HAD A GOOD TIME BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THE ONLY EVENT I MADE IT TO THIS SUMMER WAS COSMIC GATE , JOHN ASKEW, JOHN OO FLEMMING, AND ARMIN VAN BUUREN:( :conf: :sadgreen: :nervous: :clown: :whip:

Two Months Off! Love that song, i was so happy when they played it.

Definitely a fun show, totally different vibe, and for once, a live singer who sounds good and is fun.

I would have gushed a bit more about them but for the fact that Lee Burridge afterwards was even more entertaining.

ok....

listen yankeebaby...

and everyone else who was standing with their arms crossed for most of the ing show..

ARE YOU ING SERIOUS?
underworld was crazy!!!
they kicked so much ass!! and you're gonna just ing stand there and disrespect them by nodding your head like "yeah this is ok"
yeah i elbowed about a dozen people in the face.. especially when they were playing breaks... me and my friends even made a break circle!
honestly
a bunch of ing yuppies with their girlfriends....
the problem with that is people who have the money and resources to see these shows also don't understand them.

next time stay home... or go to williamsburg and see some band called "semi-precious shiny weapons" or "yeah yeah yeahs" or whatever the ..

since when is it no longer cool to ing dance?
