The Arbiter
Similar story really, I bought it expecting an awesome game thanks to it's nice review's and it's predecessor's, but instead the game was incredibly boring and more restrictive than the old 'System Shock' games in the growth department. The only triumph I found was the graphics, but I dont consider that enough to redeem a game.

the game is a masterpiece.

It's nice while it lasts but once you've completed it there isn't much to go back for imo.

i wish i would have rented the game, or waited for it to be at least 50% cheaper.

Gears of War = 100 times better and really sets the bar of what you should expect from games when they're full priced.

Wow. If that's what folks are saying, I don't know that I will spend the money - because I honestly though Gears of War was a MASSIVE waste of money. Loads of fun to play through once, but absolutely nothing to go back for.

the multiplayer? I dread to think how many hours i've spent on this. the new maps also kept it fresh, probably with more round the corner.

going through the game on the harder difficulties, even with friends? its probably THE best co-op game i've ever played, the only thing that comes close is perfect dark when it was originally released for co op play.

Bioshock has no multiplayer, and on my first play through i'd got 840/1000 so i didn't feel much need to go over it again :/

anyway this is a bioshock thread, i'm going off on one :p

I'm not a multiplayer kind of guy unless it's a party game or a sports game - I just don't have the time to compete with the kinds of kids who play Halo and HL and all the other FPS/action shoot-em-ups all the time, so they are inevitably little to no fun to me.

I also don't understand the appeal of completing a game at all the difficulty levels - but that's another rant for another day.

The in party is Online. :whip: :whip:

Single player was just a fap session before the party.

Well that explains things.

Yeah - I just don't have fun playing those games online. Too many people who spend far too much time playing and take it far too seriously, it just isn't fun for me.

yeah, if you don't like multiplayer, that changes everything, and it's a shame imo because there are a lot more games being geared toward online play than great single player nowadays.

Which is a complete crock, IMO. Game developers are pandering to the lowest common denominator worse than pop music producers.

ing Halo.... :(

I've always been a much bigger fan of multiplayer, and it means more people buy the game & online subscriptions, so there's no rational way to blame them. It takes even more work on their part to make those games, because it takes ongoing maintenance, too, so it's not as if they're just getting lazy.

People online do play dirty: we all are witness to this, but to me thats what keeps things competitive. I can see why it wouldnt be fun if you go around getting murdered every time.

So do your self a favor and go pick up Bioshock. It doesnt have a multiplayer. Which means you dont have to worry about getting murdered by other players. :stongue: :stongue:
