Excellent for both mixing and production. |
Any opinions on these? My friend works at GC and said he can get the pair for a little over 100.00. That'd be a steal based on the going price ~400.00.
It's got an 8 in sub so I could use it for small parties too.
Reviews I've read online are mostly positive. |

I own the Behringer Truth's 2031A as well and I'm still glad I bought these. Just one of the best monitor speakers you can buy for that little money. The bass is a little bit over the top compared with the usual suspects in monitoring. They are loud as hell and are suitable for small house parties with not too big rooms (20-25 square feet max.). If you want to use these primarily for small parties I suggest to go looking for something more PA-like in the same price range.
I guess that they aren't quite the best for production, but as far as dj'ing concerns I'd say go for it  |

on new years at my buddys house party we had KRK 6's and Truths going (not sure on exact model) but it was loud as and sounded so good.

| I'm a newb, buying my first setup. been mixing on my computer for 4 months now. just wondering if it would matter if I hooked up the turntables/mixer to say a bookshelf system rather than buying studio monitors. |

They'll definitely be a difference. Probably more mid range on the bookshelf and flatter sound on the monitors (they're ideally meant for a studio for production). |

| what do you guys think of the m-audio bx5a? my budget for monitors is no more than $300 and considering the space i have i don't want to go bigger than a 6.5 and no smaller than a 5. I can get these off ebay for $200. my second choice is the Nady sm-250a 6.5 which are also $200. |

Not sure about them, but I do know that M-Audio just announced update to the 5 and 8 series at NAMM, if that matters at all to you. (Prob. no big difference). |

| Well I have the KRK Rokit 8's with sub for computer production. Also have a set of Electro Voice 'Force-i' 15's and an EV 18" sub...and it's a bit too much just for my studio at home. It doesn't stop me from using it, they just rarely pushed hard until they go to gigs. |

I finally picked up a pair of B2031A Truths and man these things are amazing! It really humbles you during the mix as you can hear all the imperfections.
I got them price matched off the web at Sam Ash in store for 279.99 new. Amazing bang for the buck I must say. |
