IBIZA 2008 CONFIRMED for that very reason.

OMG!!!! just the pics you posted on the first page are simply amazing!!! i am so there next year but i have to do the opening parties. the closing parties always fall at the start of school and they kinda frown upon teachers taking the first and second week off of school :D but man that water is so blue!!! i can't wait.

and i notice topless girls, does that mean we get to go to clubs topless? lol you know, the guys here at avalon get to so why not us? ;)

It's really hard to estimate because it all depends on your spending habits. For example, I spent about $2,000 in 16 days (not including flight). My brother spent $1,400 and Rich spent $2,500. We all attended the same parties and did the same activities. My brother never bought a drink at the club, as I would buy ~3 or so in a night (keep in mind a Budweiser is 12 euros, ~$15 :P). Also, Rich brought a lot more shirts and souvenirs then the rest of us.

All in all, it’s hard to put a price tag on Ibiza LOL… it can be expensive, but if you find a great deal on accommodation and do most of you drinking before you enter a club then you will save A LOT of money.

Thats why you can't beat an ice cold 40oz for 1,35 euro at the store :D

heh - you need to put a multiplier sign in front of those prices for what we spent in 7 days. $24 red bull/vodkas add up.... and we got lucky and saved $1,000 in cover charges by only having to pay for 1 party (Hed Kandi). We were comped at Pacha every nite and We Love Sundays at Space and Manumission at Amnesia. For Cocoon our friend paid for a table at Amnesia ($1,400 for the 3 hours we were there!).

spending can definitely get out of hand if you let it. i met this guy from miami at the nitrous bar in amnesia, one of about 3 americans i met the whole time, who told me he spent $6000 euro on tequila the night before at pacha. sounded credible to me considering i only met the guy 2 min ago and he was already buying me a shot of tequila and a bottle of water (like $25). it seems like pacha is the place to be if you want to punish your wallet...

:wtf:

we got by just fine prefading at the minimart on san miguels (really good local ibizan beer) and the vodka-redbull party packs. if you're slick about it, you can get completely smashed in the parking lot outside the club and walk in about $100 euro richer. amnesia has ins and outs so you can make multiple trips.

there's this really really sweet vodka shot they sell at mambo (and other places i'm sure) that tastes delicious. it has a special name i forgot, does anyone know?

next year we're considering mid-august to mid-september. as far as i know the only topless girls in the club are the dancers, but don't let that stop you :p

back when i was your age young-whippersnapper (LOL) yeah i was a bit more budget minded. would load up on beers from the local market and was a bit more selective in drink prices.

of course the $ sucks majorly right now...when i was there last in 2003 the exchange rate was around 1:1 so everything is 40%+ higher now anyway.

Here is another lil tip... you don't just have to stay at El Hotel to get comped at Pacha, if you eat at Pacha’s restaurant you can walk in to the club free after your dinner. Blowing 1800 euros ($2,300) a night (during the weekend) at the El Hotel just seems pretty insane to me. Pacha's whole GLAM image does attract the rich as another destination to blow their $$$, which kinda sucks in a way because part of the crowd is not there strictly because of the music. According to Pacha Magazine, there was a guy who blew 100k just on bottles of Cristal Champagne during David Guetta’s party, F*** Me I’m Famous!.

The parties in Ibiza are off the charts and you definitely should try to hit up all the clubs for the clubbing experience. My top 3 favorite clubs are Amnesia, DC10 and Space. I love Amnesia (Armada & Cream) and DC10 (Circo Loco) because it seems that the entire crowd is strictly there for the music… and that makes the energy & vibe unbeatable!

yeah - we knew about the Pacha dinner thing. actually, we could have probably gotten comped most nites there anyway through various people we know - the last 2 nites we went they let us right in w/o even checking the list though i think at that point they recognized us. if you know the door guys its actually pretty easy to walk right in Pacha for free.

it actually turned out great staying at the Pacha hotel...b/c of that we went to Pacha 5 nites (FMIF the whole nite - other times from around 4-5am - close). Ended up seeing Dirty South, Victor Caulderone and Roger Sanchez there all of whom we wanted to see but hadn't planned on it beforehand.

our room at Pacha was 360 euros per nite every nite we were there....subtract 110 euros for Pacha cover it nets out at 250 euros...though as i said before we would have gotten comped some nites anyways so those #s are a bit off. but we loved the hotel and knew what we were getting into ahead of time. i've stayed at the Royal Plaza and Es Vive before...both would have been notably cheaper but not include Pacha comps...

not like i was jumping for joy spending what we did but i was okay with paying it - as i've gotten older i find I like nice hotels, bottle service, etc. sometimes :)

Wow, is it that cheap? I remember reading an article about the El Hotel being 1800 euros, I guess that was for 5 days of accommodation. Do they monitor how many people stay in a room during a night?

When I was originally looking for accommodation for 07 I thought there would be a lot more of us. I found an apt right above cafe del mar that was very reasonable. It slept 6 people and it would be approx. 300 euros each person per week. The owner of the apt has many connections on the island so he guaranteed guestlist access to all the major clubs. That fell through because only 3 of us ended up booking a trip to ibiza. Right before I left I found out that one of my best friends was going to stop by Ibiza for the first few days we were there. After he arrived in Ibiza (for the first time) he ended up changing his flight on 3 separate occasions. He ended up staying almost the entire trip… I guess Ibiza is that awesome isn’t it... :D

well i wouldn't call $544 a night cheap (after tax and coversion to $) :)

i did read someone tried to stay 1 or 2 nites at El Hotel and they got the 1800 euro rate...i'm guessing maybe all the regular rooms were sold out and that was the rate for 1 of the rooftop suites with outdoor jacuzzis...the rate is a firm 360 euros + tax if they have occupancy...i believe in Spain if they post certain rates for certain dates for a hotel, they can't jack them based on demand....only lower them.

you can put up to 3 people in a rooms....though i don't know where the 3rd would sleep! the rooms are very cool and big but we didn't have a sofa...had a small living room area with a table and some nice chairs.
