all right, all right, maybe it's not that great, but i haven't heard many albums this year and new work by Ulrich is always cool in my book

For the third time, this thread is about albums not mix CDs.

I can honestly say I haven't really been thrilled by many of the aforementioned albums. I'd agree most of all with stevesto, though I didn't like Chromophobia as much as the overall hype did. Ex Machina did sound incredibly same-y the whole way through, which was a disappointment.

Ulrich's Goodbye and Air's Pocket Symphony have got to be the tops for me out of what has already been released. Simply gorgeous all the way through both of those.

The one thing that has disappointed me with a vast majority of the albums out is that there isn't much diversity in them. They'll mostly be one type of track with maybe one or two different styled tracks here and there. It's nice to hear the artist branch out and try different things instead of sticking with the safe-and-sane tunes that s/he/they are known for.

I'm most excited for the Underworld album (and fighting hard to wait for my copy to arrive in the mail instead of downloading it first), as I love everything from the album I've heard, and the diversity of what I have heard is incredible.
