Well all the jobs I had before (6 different ones) none were like this...
So I was just not expecting it thats all..
Annd...what really pissed me off was...when I asked about it...they tell me
"Well its so when you quit you have that one cheque come in, its better for your"
haha, as if the employer gives a flying about me after I leave their workplace..
At least be honest and say "Cuz we greedy mother******s" |

how are the employers being greedy when they evetually pay you what they owe you? |

dude, the law was established by people who actually did have that in mind - believe it or not, this is in place for our benfit.(it's hard to see at first but it is)
and it's got nothing to do with your employer being greedy, they have no option but to enforce the law. |

Maybe greedy is a bad word....But the point is they are not keeping the money to do you a favour... |

The law is not for them to withhold a weeks pay....The law is to establish a pay day...which most times is the week following the pay period.. |

its also profitable for a company to do this..
when i used to work at UPS .. we got paid from out east .. and people out east got paid from out west ..
reason being is .. money took a few days to change hands thru the banks .. therefor UPS made interest money off the money ..
companies use small things like this to help make more profit :)
it will help out when you leave none the less ... |

i get paid same week every 2 weeks
so every second week i get my money for 2 weeks i've worked, |

If you are an hourly employee then you get paid after you work.
For example: If you started the Monday after the end of a pay period - you work your 2 weeks and then those hours get submitted. You will then wait another 2 weeks to get paid.
This would be the norm on most jobs that pay every 2 weeks.
They aren't holding it.. it just takes time to process. Generally, a company has one pay day for the entire company. |

I get paid on 1st and 16th of every month, if those days are the weekend, then the next business day we get our paychecks
vacation pay is incorporated into our paychecks as well
I remember when I signed the job agreement, it said that in writing, about 1st and 16th
I guess it all depends on what was initially agreed with the employer or signed in the contract |
