Lol, that's probably the only track I always skip.

I have to agree with all the praise here, this is a truly outstanding album. I can really feel the urban-night-time-city-lights-flashing-by-subway-train atmosphere. But on the other hand earlier this week i listened to it on a quiet day as the first snow fell and the combination was really beautiful. :)

I'm also really diggin Burial's lovely remix of Bloc Party - Where Is Home.

First record advice taken from TA ftw.

Listened once to the two Burial records and I definitely like it in the background. Very nice ambient-taking-some-weird-turns, even felt a bit "mushroomy" (distant reminiscence of Massive Attack on the first album a couple of times, also jungly-IDM shades on the high points). Definitely an UK thing, as it has that special things that seems to flow through all of the kingdom's art production.

The tracks are very good in themselves but the albums really flow as a whole.

Many thanks to you all. Will fit nicely between my latest grabs (Joris Voorn & Los Hermanos). Expect this to grow a lot on me... well it begun already.

EDIT: Oh well, discovering Dubstep. I have an habit of getting into things two years late. Albums still great!

that's one of my favs.

I always skip Archangel, terrible vocals IMO.

Not a big fan of this album at all. I like the production but really dislike most of the vocals - they spoil it for me. They sort of remind me of the horrible ringtones that children and stupid people have on their phones - that chipmunk type crap. Ugh.

My favourite track on the album by far that one, cant get enough of the vocals and just the whole atmosphere of the piece.

Sheesh, and I thought the hype around Burial was staggering for the first album. The hype(rbole) around this album absolutely dwarfs it.

Untrue is not as good as the debut album. The beats aren't as varied, the tracks rely far too heavily on vocal samples for momentum and the album is missing that really "out there" vibe that the debut had ("Space Ape" and its absolutely effed syncopation comes to mind).

Still, it's a solid effort. The short ambient interludes are still good, tunes like Ghost Hardware and Raver have atmosphere and creativity like only Burial has and the influences from UK Garage and its roots shine through on an even higher level. Worth picking up.
