Burial - Untrue [Hyperdub] (pg. 6)

Well, I waited kind of a while to post a review of this considering all the praise that it has received here on TA - having as much hype surround an album as there is on here almost always leads me to disappointment.

Surprisingly, this lived up to the hype (for the most part). The album reminds me a bit of Lukas Greenburg's, not in style, but rather in how it's put together in a way that makes it flow pretty seamlessly and sound cohesive.

I don't know that I would call it my album of the year, but it was something really nice I don't think I'd have gotten into without all the hubbub on here - so thanks fellas.

Stumbled upon this album the other day and it hasn't left my mp3 playlist since. It's an absolutely wonderful album. Will def be purchasing a copy of this.

Now I completely understand why that 15 year old elitist twat in the MD obsesses over dubstep. I'm definitely going to look into more promising stuff of this genre

So, finally I purchased it!

And I must admit that I'm quite disappointed... It's fantastically well made, but the only tracks where I can feel honest emotions are the ambient bridge tracks. In Mc Donalds and UK are my fav tracks.

I've finally just picked this up this week and I'm really quite disappointed that I've waited so long. Brilliant.

indeed, beautiful track. along with ghost hardware, dog shelter, shell of light... essentially the whole cd.

yeah, the whole CD is amazing. the vocals in Archangel just stood out to me immediately and now i can't get them out of my head.

i tend to discover and fall in love with so much music months (or even years) after the initial release. i usually kick myself for not discovering stuff sooner, but this one i think wouldn't have had the same impact on me if i listened to it months ago.

everyone finds music after it has been out for months. :D

I used to be into strictly trance, now I prefer techno, tech-house, prog-house, dubstep, and a selection of minimal. I can't listen to any new trance at all anymore. Got out of the listening business about a year ago. So now I am playing catch up on some releases. :)

My girlfriend just listened to this CD and liked it quite a bit which I was surprised by since she isn't an avid electronic listener and probably prefers more of the 'lighter' music.

currently playing the out of this album.

favs = Near Dark, Ghost Hardware & Shell of Light

i actually heard the 8 Bit Boy Remix of Archangel before i heard the original or any Burial period for that matter, so i'm kinda over Archangel for playing it too much back then.

amazing album. i'd say Burial is sort of like a modern version of Enigma with a slight urban twist to it...

ps- thanks to bobby for the intro:) and thanks to denys envy for the 8 bit boy archangel remix intro

It's about being on a night bus, or with your mates, walking home across your city on your own late at night, or being in a situation with your girlfriend or boyfriend, or coming back from a club, or putting tunes on an falling asleep.
