Is there an easy way to get free cable?

I dont have cable TV, but have the wire hooked up, so i get the basic channels.... but the other channels, that you have to pay for.... I get many of them with perfect sound and you can see the picture... but in black and white and very 'fuzzy'.....
so i am thinking, there must be an easy way to get these channels for free seeing that I sorta half have many of them now....
anyone got any solutions? thanks! |

hahahaha... trying to steal cable are we :P
As a student I never paid for cable it was awesome... just order the internet the rest was easy haha |

are you saying the internet is the solution to hacking cable?
or that you were just satisfied by the internet? |

| if you can find out where the cable company has the filters installed (sometimes on the side of your house or sometimes in a box on your street or sometimes both) then remove the filters. a special tool is required for that. just be careful if the cable guy finds out that your filters are missing. |

I have heard of stuff like this, but the thing is, i dont wanna mess with the buildings cable box (I live in a house with 4 units), so i wouldnt wanna mess up everyone elses cable just so i can get free TV hahaha
I was hoping i could just connect something to the cable or something simple hahaha..... obviously not gonna be that easy though |

Well, if your neighbours don't mind then you could always add a splitter. Might need an amplifier with it as well, if it's a bit of a distance.
If you don't want to get caught by anyone... well, pay for it. I'll have to concur that the internet is far better for entertainment than cable TV, though; I probably won't even get basic cable when I move. |

Exactly the conclusion I came to, and the course of action that I took.
I just use an antenna and get a few channels. Otherwise I use the net for most of my tv watching. |

always remember, cable is 2-way communication which makes it easy to gt caught if you are stealing cable. if your neighbour decides to share their cable with you then thats a different story.
satellite tv is 1-way communication. if the phone line is plugged in to the receiver then it becomes 2-way. thats why you never plug in the phone line if you are stealing satellite. ;) |

1. Move back home or....
2. Move in with your girlfriend or...
3. Order Cable under an alias and don't pay the bill or...
4. remove the filters. Its actually better if you remove them for your neighbours as well, then rogers can't assume that you are responsible. (Successfully accomplished at 3 seperate residences in Mississauga) |
