I hope Gatien has the weekdays and daytimes filled with corporate events and such... you need that to stay afloat there.

Staff was really nice actually, so many times, theyd stop us and ask us how our night was, and if we were having a good time.

She didn't mean cold temperature-wise. She meant cold as in depressing.

^ depressing is a little harsh...more like a giant void of emptyness.

lucid just didn't have the right flow. And the retarded bouncers made you do circles around the place.

I'm quite refreshed to here the positive reviews on Circa, i really hope to check it out on sunday...

seriously people, keep posting pics, everyone wants to see them!

I've got tons more pictures to come and especially crazy videos which I will upload later tonight...

Here is are a couple for now...

Crazy LCD Monitors (thats me and my friend)

This statue was in the best room where they played some crazy crazzy house music and there was gold bricks all around the statue with chocolate gold coins, I took a bunch but it all melted in my pocket, I was really drunk I didn't realize it haha!

Got there at about 11:30 and there was a huge lineup, but I randomly recognized one of the girls working the guestlist so I convinced her to let us bypass the line and she let us right in plus -5 off cover. No one in our group got carded because of this so I can't comment on the +21 or +19 limit, but we were all over 21 anyway.

The minute I stepped in after paying I was psyched to be there, display windows with models and crazy lighting and the sound system thundering through the hallway I almost ran to see what it was like inside. The best way I can describe the feeling was like being 10 years old again and going to chuckie cheese for your birthday, it was that ridiculous.

Music was nothing special and they threw a lot of not so typical mixes in but the crowd was loving it and everyone was having a good time. Definitly a different vibe than your typical night at say the guv but it was all good. People in costumes of all kinds, a rainbow coloured fairy girl with wings, the staff dressed up in plastic suits to look like food, random articles of clothing and flair in every direction so dress code was a non issue.

Most confusing part of the place was definitly the bathroom, I walked in and there was a lineup of girls and dudes using urinals and I did a double take thinking I'd walked into the wrong restroom. I still don't know where to go outside for a smoke and I saw enough people smoking inside who probably don't either.

Details at this point get sort of blurry but I ended up with 3D glasses in my pocket, sparkles all over my clothes, pink stains on my white shirt and a phone number; so things turned out pretty damn good.

Some of my friends who aren't into EDM or big clubs like that were turned off by the whole thing and left early, but that's fine. It's not a place for everyone and no one is going to force you to crawl out of that dark hole in the wall to see something different, and honestly, if you don't want to be there; stay the out and shut up because the rest of us are having a great time with out you.

ended up going to Circa last night.....got there around 11-ish not knowing what kind of lines there were gonna be, but only waited for maybe 10 minutes and we were in....lines were moving pretty quickly.....

overall first impression:....HUGE.....not necessarily the mainroom itself, but just in that there are so many different areas/levels to check out...the upstairs areas were initially closed but gradually started to open up as the night went on....

things i liked: the decor was aweome..most of you have probably heard about all the dffrent rooms like the washroom bar, 3-d movie room etc....but there were so many little things...attention to detail..statues, toy displays....models in windows....definitely was not bored, seemed like there was always some interesting new room/area to explore....and definitely not like anything else in Toronto..the mainroom with the open auditorium-type feel with the other levels looking down.....the unintentionally unisex washrooms.....stage in front of dj booth...plenty of room to dance and get close to the dj...im sure this will be more restricted with bigger names but we had a great time there....

things i didnt like: mainly service issues...all bank machines were out of order....dont know the story here, but youre kind of shooting yourself in the foot when you dont allow your customers to take out cash to spend...especially when you dont accept credit cards (at least at the few bars i asked)....also there seemed to be a shortage of efficient bartenders or something...wait times for drinks at certain bars were ridiculously long.....this however was somewhat sidestepped by going to less busy bars...but still, service was definitely on the slow side....im sure this will improve though.....the music.. ....ok.......but nothing great...definitely a more mainstream sound...i dont hink ive ever heard so much daft punk in my life....not that there is anything wrong with daft punk mind you...but you get the idea.....and the crowd....skewed younger....really a mix of all different types...and while im all for that, it seemed like the overall vibe was 'meh'...i mean at the end of the day youre there for the music and the vibe, and for me anyways the actual club iself was more interesting....also for it being opening night....it was busy but not super packed..especially the upstairs areas....which in a way is good and un-guv-like (room to dance) but because of the size of the venue it can feel empty really easily if theres not a certain number of people there...i realize it just opened, and different nights will have different crowds/vibes/music but thats my impressions from last night....

Conclusion:..awesome, unique space with lots of potential and lots of service issues to work out...recommendation: check it out at least once to decide for yourself...
