I like the knobs on the old one better.

Like I said though, I havn't seen anything that is so well laid out, that solves the interface problem of being both mixer-like and controller like. Coming from doing alot of DJing with ableton, I've looked far and wide for something like this and havn't seen it yet. The closest we got was the Xone 3D or hawtin's CTRL, but neither offer such straight forward and effective simplicity.

A more "dj-friendly" layout by no means justifies paying out of my ass for something when I can purchase something for a lot less than half of the price and be just as satisfied.

This is just the one time where you and I actually disagree. :p

Well okay, I'll hold off until I know what it's price is, but I still think it's over-hyped. :p

After I buy my xone, AND another CDJ...yeah...I might...

It would really be purely for fun. Everyone around here knows I've been a Sasha fan for a while, and specifically a fan of this ableton setup, not for the mystique and hype, not so much even for how Sasha uses it, but more just an appreciation of the setup and the way it works. I'd like to be able to set it up at home and with it untill I find a configuration I like. For me personally, it has exactly what I would want in terms of controls, in a layout that I would enjoy using (I'm using an Evolution X-session right now for comparison).

Thanks Clovis!!! Where did you find out this info though?

Also, i don't think id buy it, there's not enough control. But i am glad it's getting released :) I think id prefer to design my own and spend $8000 on it.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks crap?
The old one looks much better.
I think ill be more than happy sticking with my Behringer BCF.

Just for the record - the Korg Zero4 looks very, very nice, but unfortunately is ridiculously crowded and somewhat awkward to actually use.

/post that is somewhat related to thread

And a mass produced Maven? My reaction is an interesting combination of both "Neat" and "Meh."

I too think they should release that older version that has better knobs.
