Got to the club around 11:30 Bouncers were very friendly, wishing a good night etc. (i must say, small things like this just give you a good vibe right off the bat, and that kind of attitude i think will really help the club succeed! Even later on as i was passing into an area i wasn't allowed, the security curtiously said i can't go past there, and also offered me a great evening)
Anyways...Main room music totally not my style, so i spent very little time there. I think they should have put that vip seating section in front of the dj booth at the rear some how, that way the crowd can be closer to the dj (especially since all the cieling clutter of lights makes it hard to see the djs interaction)
The ballroom was quite nice. Good layout and nice size. Music was rockin in there, hodges was tearing the place a part. I found farina a bit hit or miss. But when he hit, it was excellent! (one comment on the sound in that room. I found the bass very solid, but the mid was cut way to much, i wish i could of heard those melodic hooks come through the speakers a bit clearer)
skyy vodka room was also quite nice. Liked the layout, and the 'non vip seating' Addy i also found a bit hit or miss. Played some great tunes, but some long periods of nothing also.
Overall though, i found the music fairly good 7/10 i liked the club and could see myself returning at some point. Definitely left a way better impression then Lucid did.

This club is amazing. I was blown away completely. I'm a bit worried that Toronto isn't ready for it - I hope we are. I honestly was so taken by the place I just kept walking around marveling at it and didn't spend all that much time listening to the DJs.
It brought together a bunch of different crowds that would normally never cross, and everybody got along really well. I was amazing to overhear some huge 905 super-jock complementing a very gay guy on his fairy wings, having a great conversation and laughing.
You *must* go see this place. It's top notch!

I only have time to write a brief review, as I'm in Montreal now and getting ready to hear Victor Calderone at Stereo tonight.
I actually was on the same flight to Montreal as Calderone and I talked to him for a bit. He didn't know what to expect about the club, but he really liked the room and agreed the DJ booth should be lower than where it is. He also thought the ballroom was pretty nice and he'd play there.
I had a good time at the party. Didn't really venture to any other rooms, but the energy in the main room was pretty good. Party rocked out until 6am and I can't wait for the next big event at Circa!

sound was bangin across the whole thing and it thumped and it was clear

attention to detail around the club is awesome
really liked Security and staff (except slow bartenders) there, very professional!
checked out sky vodka bar briefly where Addy was doing his usual TO/Cozo-House thing not bad but it wasn't too loud there
so then we proceeded to Ballroom for some Farina when we got there it was still Mischief & Frankie layed solid funky beats
Farina got on and soon the whole room was pretty packed
Sneak appearead in the Dj booth soon after with a huge blunt and him and Mark got front half of the room second hand stoned
and it was repeated 3 or 4 times haha :D
at this point i thought Farina would lay something deep but hell no he played REALLY fast (the only set i have that matches the speed is from 2001) everybody was eating it up though, smiles everywhere
sound was a bit meh in there but we managed to find a good spot with fierce bass and not ear piercing highs like it was in the middle of the dance floor
proceeded to dance all the way up till 4:30 when legs just gave up
checked out Calderone in main room couple of times briefly it was better than i expected techy and tribally and diva housy when we were leaving
overall quite a good night i haven't danced this hard in a while and really fun mega-club experience
now lets seem what kinda of talent will they bring
will come back for sure

My CiRCA Review:
When we got there around 1130pm Sunday, people are divided up by reg admission, guest, and comp lists (Comp list was like....5 min wait or so, basically checked IDs of 4-6 people and then escorted them over to the club, came back and repeat). Peter was again right there working with the people which was nice to see again.
Got inside (and yes its true...the bouncers and staff are all super friendly!! throughout the night, id ask questions about how things are working, when rooms typically open, etc. etc. and they'd answer them as best they could. Even when i accidently started walking to the back staff area, when the security finally saw that i had gone in, instead of pulling me back or anything, he just tapped my shoulder and was like Hey Buddy, sorry thats for staff only...pretty nice i thought.) So yea, the first part u go to is the inside line part. looks like the boarding station for a rollercoaster ride..like 5 or 6, 20 person lines id estimate.. with cool branches w/ Tv wall displays
First area you get to is this space with the human wall displays...If you branch off towards the right, you will enter the main room and the first thing u see is way up there this giant head.
Main room speakers..had several of these which gave an amazing bass i thought. and SO TALL
Now the main room kinda goes out to the right once u walk in, with the bar located on the far side. Opposite to that is the wall with the escalator...heres part of whats painted on that wall
Main room lights were pretty cool, no lasers or anything but i heard from a staff member that more is getting installed next week or something (at least for the ballroom..im sure everywhere else is getting more stuff). This is looking down onto the main room dance floor...the lighting stuff floating above (which rises and falls like the guv one at different times of the night..)
I thought the main room had an awesome vibe.. I couldnt really tell the alocohol from drug crowd, everyone really just parties together and has a blast. The crowd here actually gives off a completely different vibe then ive found at any other club/bar. Overall, picture some mod/urban young professional nightclub where people go to talk about art and self expression....and thats CiRCA.
The left side of the main room when u walk in is the upper VIP section, a two part section...uhh heres the couch part looking down from above...to the right of this picture is the main dance floor.
Lets see...going back to where u enter the club, and instead of going right to the main room, go left and theres the long hallway with those weird nurse model things. The first room branching off is the washroom bar...pretty cool and if u keep walking further down u will get to the end of the hall which leads to a door that goes to the designated smoking area....the worst part of the club i thought.
SO DAMN NARROW!!!! it kinda continues a bit right and is just blocked off with temporary fencing...oh and a van filled with cops was just chillling outside watching the area. On big nights, no way will this hold all the smokers...
At some place are the stairs. When i was inside deff had a good sense of direction but not good enough to recall with too much detail which other rooms were located where....but skipping ahead
on the top floor is the Ball room and...(glass room? skyy vodka room...3d screening room..i dunno) Ballroom is to your RIGHT. Really nice here, lots of space but !! Around....1 the room got FULL and they started forming a controlled LINE UP to get inside...only putting people in as others came out (room has entrance only and exit only doors). People line up around hte corner and then along this clear glass window....

Thats just some of hte dance floor and wall of VIP booths.....on the opposite side are a bunch of couches and tables and a carpeted (i think) open space. I think on normal nights this room opens up at 12 but on all access nights just any time.
Now on your LEFT when you come to the 3rd floor are these 3 pictures things that have a video camera facing u and lcd displays with trippy effects....randomly big groups of people would be standing around but would clear up from time to time. Then the space turns into teh kidrobot bar area...with random displays and stuff...
This are leads to...im guessin either called the Skyy Vodka room..or 3d screaning room...or they are the same thing im not too sure but yea...
Rumors were going around of a few celebs there sunday night..never saw any for myself so cant confirm.
So yea...lots of random hallways and corners and paths that people get lost in...lots of heavy congestion at times...will be a major pain on big nights..
I only got to stay until 130ish but sure had fun while there...Id say it took about 1 hour to check the entire place out besides the VIP area...oh theres also (i think it is) a super vip glass booth overlooking the main room, below the giant head..didnt go there..and on the 3rd floor there was another room blocked off higher up...i dunno whats up there (tech...vip...another bar? meh)
Overall thought the place was just different but soo good. Lots of hot chicks dressed up...a few ravers around all sorts of groups/people/ages. YES I saw 1 group of sketchy asian mothers..probably 4-5 of them dancing together in the main room...yea theres alot of gay ppl there and in the main room i found most hung out on the 1/2 wall next to the VIP couches..kinda straight ahead when u first walk in...
Sorry i completely skipped over the 2nd floor...this had most of projection tables and other chairs and places u can chill out but i dodnt really remember it too well so im just gonna skip over it...
So yea, crowd was great, staff was awesome, venue is stunning, music was good but i never stayed in a room long enough to get too into it so cant really comment.
!!!Thinking about it, i couldnt really picture CiRCA being a place id want to see many big DJs...not many fit the CiRCA scene i think....guv's a better venue for big djs and time to get crazy atmostphere.
