scary... meaning, i wonder why people even care to do stuff like that? |
My mistake.
In any event, at least DJ Mag is essentially forced to admit that lists like these are utterly meaningless and irrelevant (though I'm sure they knew that full well before). |

I already said this before. Sit and home and vote over and over for the same DJ and get all your friends to do it too, then the DJ you hate will be DISQUALIFIED. Not very smart of DJ mag to be telling everyone what the criteria is for disqualifying people. How dumb are they giving this info out??
I wonder if DJ Mag thinks this will buy back credibility for their poll???? Throw a couple of DJs on the fire and maybe people will like us again. HAHAHAHAHAHA |

# 99 and # 100 are going to be super excited since they wouldn't have made it if this wasn't exposed. One person's negative turns into another's positive..
Ps - Don't know Dan personally so I cannot speak for him but Christopher is a super nice guy and down to earth. |

I don't really think this reflects as negatively on them as it does DJ Mag.

From djmag:
Both Lawrence and Dan vehemently denied any involvement in vote rigging. “I take this matter very seriously,” said DJ Dan. “My assistant and I confronted my former marketing manager via telephone. He strongly denied any wrongdoing, but had no credible explanation for the improper voting. Christopher Lawrence, who used the same marketing person this year, reported similar voting problems. When I discovered the common link was our marketing person, I immediately terminated him.” Lawrence’s lawyer Kent Liu said: “My clients are willing to declare under oath that they themselves did not purchase or use a script, nor did they instruct any person in their employ to do so.
 |
I read about this the other day on another board, apparently Dj Dan and Christopher L are suing their marketing manager. |

Now that would, in fact, reflect poorly on DJ Dan and CL.
No one is going to convince me they didn't know exactly what they were paying for. |

It definitely looks worse for the DJ's imo |

Why? This list is nothing more than a marketing tool that no one should have ever taken seriously in the first place, so how is CL and Dan paying for marketing in this fashion any different than major labels that use excessive marketing budgets to spam the piss out of all of us?
:conf:
The only way it reflects poorly on the DJ's is if you buy into the idea that this list is a genuine picture of the 100 best DJ's in the world, and their cheating somehow marred the "integrity" of the list, which to me is a laughable proposition. |

It looks like the magazine is trying to sacrifice a couple of Djs to make themselves look good. Kinda odd how there are no UK or European Djs in there article because you know they were cheating.
Makes you wonder who the magazine was targeting. |
