Please take no offense, but...
BT five years ago was worth $30 at the door.
These days, $20 probably. If a huge line, then $25 or $30. But that's an adjustment that should be made night of and not beforehand...depending on demand...
$25 presales of any kind are too high, too.
Door prices too high. Don't fall into that trap in this city of all cities. ESPECIALLY on a Friday.
People here do look at prices and won't go if the price is too high.
There are far more touted DJs in this era where presales are cheaper than BT. He hasn't really been a force on the scene for some years now and tons of people I know have lost a lot of interest in him.
Just all my opinon. The tickets prices are a huge risk considering the time of year (near the holidays), all the stuff going on around Halloween (hurt people's wallet), and the huge fact it's on a Friday.
If BT's booking cost is so high that tickets have to be so much, then promoters are being suckered. hehe...
There are other clubs and promoters who have struggled over the past few years by not adjusting their door prices as they probably should and they have continued to suffer, ESPECIALLY ON FRIDAYs.
OK, my critique is done. I honestly hope this event goes well overall....cause that's only good for the scene. |

| dave is pretty much right... sf clubgoers are very finnicky when it comes to cover charges, especially on fridays. friday is still a week night and most of the crowd just wants to go have a few drinks and unwind at a cozy spot for a couple of hours. a lot of them aren't going for the headliner, aren't scene-crazed like us and aren't staying all night... and thus they can't justify high covers. a lot of people figure a club with a high cover will have expensive drinks too, and they base their decision upon that. i don't know that bt has enough dedicated fans out here to fill temple at the going rates. iirc, bt's cover was half that when he was at mighty. most places can lower the cover to an attractive number and make it all back on bar sales. |

thanks for your input, i do appreciate it.
i have noticed that vip tix sell much more in sf so we based prices from the vip tickets that we listed for the infected mushroom show.
the $25 general admission tickets go on sale only after we sell out of the $20 tickets. since vip is limited we keep the prices at $30 & $40.
we have been doing this for a very long time so we have a pretty good idea of what we are doing but i will always welcome your suggestions to help make the final product better, so keep it coming...as long as its productive.
