Try the W Hotel. It's literally right down the street on the corner of 3rd and Howard. As you may know, the W Hotels are part of the Starwood Hotels so they're pretty nice. :toocool:

Who is the enigma...ANDREW MD?

ANDREW MD

www.addictedsf.com or www.myspace.com/djandrew_md

Starting out his passion in the late 1980’s, Andrew MD has had a long extensive background in music. It seemes to be the driving force in his life. With over 20 years of total deejaying experience, 7 of those years professionally, it seemed inevitable that he would end up behind the DJ booths of some of the hottest venues in the San Francisco bay area, and all across the world! He seems to have a natural instinct in finding music that moves not only the body, but the mind also. Andrew’s unique and always perfect blending leaves you breathless as you try to take the journey that he offers in each one of his sets.
Born in Asia (on September 11, 1976), Andrew came to the states at a very young age. Raised all his life in the San Francisco bay area, he picked up music very early. Listening to everything from Hip Hop, R&B, Contemporary, Dance, High Energy, Modern Rock and even Jazz. Back when he first picked up deejaying, he experimented with mostly high energy, R&B, and Hip Hop. With material like Stevie B, Cynthia, Information Society, Depeche Mode, BBD, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, and so on. Now his main passion consist of everything from groovy, progressive, funky, filtered, tribal House to melodic, uplifting, hard, tech Trance.
With an impressive background on his resume, Andrew has had the pleasure of entertaining thousands of party goers at venues like “Space 550”, for the infamous “ORGY” parties, the island of Koi Samui in Thailand for the world famous “Full Moon Party”, club “Deep” in Miami during the 2002 Winter Music Conference, club “Ra” located in the Luxor Hotel and Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas, and of course any and every venue you can name locally in the San Francisco bay area. You can catch him doing guest appearances at venues such as 1015 Folsom, Temple, Farenheit, Milano, Ruby Skye, Abyss and much more.. Needless to say, he is no stranger to the DJ booth and loves to share his addiction with others.
His influences include artists such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, The Thrillseekers, Filo & Peri, Above & Beyond, Markus Shulz, Gabriel & Dresden, Farsheed, Danny Taneglia, Sandra Collins, Robbie Rivera, Junkie XL, Richard Vission, Oscar G, Paul Oakenfold, Rank 1, ATB, and the list goes on!
Now being a resident DJ and also partner in the highly recognized group “Addicted SF”, Andrew is not only being a DJ but also a promoter dedicated in trying to bring good parties with good music and a good vibe to all party goers. Addicted SF’s loyal fans know that whenever they go to an ASF party with Andrew MD and the ASF residents, they are in for a night of awesome music and a warm atmosphere.
Hoping to continue his learning experience in this industry, Andrew has already made plans of producing his own music and reaching as many people as he can with the understanding that music is a critical key in happiness. “When I’m performing, I don’t need a room of a thousand people. If I can just make one person feel what I feel in the power of music, it would all be worth it.”, says Andrew. He also adds, “It seems to me like underground dance music is evolving into a positive message of peace that is beginning to be accepted all across the world. Let’s embrace that and turn it into a revolution that will be the history of Music!!!”

The W used to be like my fav hotel for the price to recommend. SO PLUSH, though the rooms are a tad small (but that's most hotels in SF for you)...it was like $200/night then. Most decent hotels in SF are/were around that price barring any discounts you'd find. The W is just leages above any of them!

But now it's well over $300 a night.

With that if they are simply looking for a hole to sleep in and want to save A LOT of money, have people take cabs and get a room at hotels like...

Hotel Astoria (China Town, like $60-$70)
The Mosser (4th Street Between Market & Mission behind old navy -- decent hotel, $135ish)
Hotel Union Square (guess where it is! $130ish)
King George Hotel (Union Square, rates change from either around $90 or $130. Just checked, $90 right now)
The Pickwick Hotel ($150, but in bleh area of SOMA)
Beresford Hotel ($100 or so, Union Square)

Or you can recommend the Courtyard Marriott on 299 2nd Street. On the corner of Folsom. Right next door to my work (CNET :: 235 Second St) Just have to walk from Temple down Howard 1/2 block to 2nd street, take a left and it's on the next corner on the left side. Like $180 a night.

our friends and ticketing agency, groovetickets.com, were nice enough to post this on their home page...must mean tickets are selling well!

The Bay is always a reliable place for loco lifestyle examples and thanks to the fine folks at FIRE this fact is going to be exceptionally vivid. For on Friday, November 9th there is going to be a spectacle of dance and desire that will echo throughout the holiday season. Organized by Carpe Noctem Events and taking place at Temple on Howard Street, the party has a lot of legitimate draws, among them are: BT conducting a live laptop symphony, deck-wrecking sets by Addicted SF dynamic duo Andrew MD and Thomas Phan, plus a series of key appearances in the Catacombs room by Fabian Bates, Michael Anthony, Rob Bishop, and St. John. And there's even another realm called the Destiny Lounge where DJ Tone, Destro, and X-Rated will be inducing exotic moods. A plethora of ticketing options are available, so choose whatever suits your spirit.
