Lunesta is the worst sleep drug ever.

I have been having issues sleeping for a while now, went to the doctor yesterday and got a sample of Lunesta, and I can honestly say it's the worst pharmaceutical experience I have ever had.

My mouth tastes like an aluminum can factory, it only let me sleep in one hour increments, waking up almost every hour on the dot, and has given me without a doubt the worst headache I have ever gotten from taking a medication.

I can't even recommend this to people recreationally - it's awful. I would actually highly recommend all of you to tell your doctors to off should they ever try to give this rubbish to you.

I feel utterly miserable.

/7am rant.

Best thing I've ever taken is just plain old Benadryl. Leaves me a bit foggy the next day, however.
RJT
I have a massive tolerance built to benadryl because I've taken so much the past few months. :(

I also have a sample of Rozerem, but I have a hard time believing that a substance that isn't remotely fun to take could possibly make me sleep.

But honestly, I can't see anyone ever wanting to take Lunesta for the side effects. It is just awful.

I misread this as LuNaSeA is the worst sleep drug ever, and as the lucky michi (shellsh0ck) knows, sleeping in her company would probably suck :p

I got something to help u sleep rob. I'll be mixing tonight, about 6pm nyc time, 3pm pacific and god knows what time central :p

What's Lucid's hook like?
Good uppercut should net you a few hours of nap time.
(And it's cheap!)

Have you looked at the herbal based sleeping medications and your caffeine/sugar intake?
RJT
Yeah - no caffeine after about 11 in the morning, usually about 2 to 3 cups of coffee prior. I don't have a big sugar intake, and the herbal medications I've tried haven't really helped, though there are a couple of herbal teas that really make me settle down.

I'll concede though, that getting Myra to the gym to spar could save me money in the long run :p

I exercise plenty already, I'd be willing to bet far more regularly than the majority of people.

But way to make a condescending assumption. Good work.

Check through your diet and see for any hidden sugars in the contents labelled under things like Fructose which goes into a lot of US food products.
After that there's teas and extracts of chamomile, valerian, lavender aside from the herbal pills.
A naturopath might be able to help you out more though.

Yeah, I mean - Myra and I have what I would consider to be above average diets. Lots of vegetables, a reasonable amount of protein, and very few processed foods. I cook the majority of the food we eat, so I know what's going into it, and beyond that I guess I do have a bit of a bad habit of snacking before bed, so that could be something I could try and alter.

I definitely have a nice tea with chamomile and valerian root in it that I like quite a bit, if I didn't have this horrible metal taste in my mouth, I'd make definitely some.

Might not be working for you because of a number of reasons. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for anyone else. Maybe your huge consumption of benadryl is screwing things up.
