We'll someone needs to hold the can of paint...duh lol

Wow, it seems like most ppl agree here that the city needs to get rid of the TTC. Congrats on that ppl!

Why do I wait 30 minutes during (supposed) frequent service periods, and then three show up at once? Poor management.

holy ! that makes me insanely mad!
once, FIVE buses came, after 20 minute wait, instead of 1 every 5 minutes

ing ridiculous!

I think that's a great idea, having one unified transit system, I haven't taken the transit in a while, but I hated how I had to pay two fares coming from Mississauga to Toronto. Hopefully the provincial government can run it a lot more efficiently, cause for the last few years the TTC has been going downhill, it looks dirtier and there was a couple fare hikes.

I don't know what the hell Mel Lastman was thinking when he built that Sheppard line, that money would've been a lot more useful if they built a subway line to Square One, there are probably like 10 different buses that go from Square one to Islington, imagine how much more people would take the transit in Mississauga if it was a subway ride all the way downtown. Look how much traffic on the 401 and 403 in the morning coming from the West end.

They should perhaps change the pricing system for the transit, I know a few transit systems such as the Hong Kong MTR charges by the stops you make.

+1

I used the sheppard line when i went to school in north york, waste of money! I also notice that in Oakville where i live nobody uses the bus system (too many snoby rich ppl with bimmers and mercedez)..they should use some of the oakville buses in mississauga.. i take a bus that comes from brampton and goes to squareone and its always packed.. get some oakville buses in sauga! excellent idea on havin a subway from islington to squareone!!

I love it when the TTC just completely drives past your stop w/out stopping even though you wave it down

hhmmm...interesting rumour.

I'd like to the see the union go too. no offense, as I do respect the work that TTC employees, particularly drivers, do...but I've done mortgages for drivers who make 70k+/year with their OT and that's a *wee* bit silly for what amounts to unskilled labour.

so, if the province taking control? It relieves the city of a major financial burden...but also removes the control the city would have in terms of determine where to spend scarce resources. i.e. would Toronto residents suffer if the province chose to expand in the 905 at the expense of within the city? I don't know...

maybe it's easier to gain federal funding at the provincial level though? rather than having to get fed money flowing through the province, then down to the city? beats me.

all I know is that *something* has to change. whether it's spinning it off, giving it to the province or squeezing money from other levels of gov't...I don't know. The TTC is in a shambles right now.

Btw,

I overheard at 7/11 while buying cigs that TTC fares are going up next month or within the next few months. I haven't looked into the info or have any confirmed sources, but just a lil rumor...And, if this has been said, PLEASE, don't FAIL me....:whip: :whip: :nervous:

They just raised the price of tokens a couple weeks ago I believe too.

I heard rumors for ppl not to be suprised if it hits $3.00 per ride. :eyes:

No no lol.

Sorry, meant token & tickets (its the exact same thing).

A normal fair is $2.75..but it worked out to like $2.20 if bought a 5/10 pack of tokens.

It now costs more than $2.20 but still less than $2.75

Lol ya.....I use TTC, so I buy 5 tickets/tokens for 10.50,so basically buy 4 get one free hehe, but I think it will be $3, which sux. That's $6 just to go to work or $5 if you buy in bulk, and what if you go somewhere else and use ttc multiply times...:( RIPOFF! I mean it's still cheaper than a car, but soon it's going to cost the same...:nervous:

That's why I drive everywhere :D

I could care less if i'm polluting the environment. If they want me to start taking public transportation then they should make it reliable, affordable and practicable .

All of which the TTC is NOT!

Well, I work downtown, so the reason I don't drive is cause there is no point to pay $20 every day lol:toothless
