aria definitely had the glitz factor, but for sheer quality nothing ive ever seen can beat stereo's the way it was in like 2002 or so. absolutely hands down the best monitoring ive *ever* heard (4x18" EAW full range cabs, 4x18" subs, 2 slot tweeters and a PDS 3 way crossover running it all) EVER, a nice thick carpet with a rubber mat underneath to ease the leg pains at 10am, a sliding drawer that pulled out with the 2 1000s (this was back when they had 3 decks and no space for the 1000s haha), a small fridge for your drinks and oh..did i mention how good the monitors were?

shorty the sound guy was a wizard, and the room sounded phenomenal, but nothing ive ever heard comes close to the way those monitors sounded. no club, anywhere, ever.

if only the stereo booth hadnt been so frigging high up from the dancefloor...

I guess I'd have to pick the zone setup too.

A little elevated so that you can see the crowd, but still intimate that the crowd feels close to you.

Hated the old guv setup. you can't even see the dj

Yeah, that booth is insane to play.... and I agree - when the windows were in there with that insane view of the waterfront/skyline nothing in the city beat it. Unfortunately, the fire at The Docks (now Sound Academy) blew out the glass behind it. I'm pretty sure they plan on putting it back for next summer.

I also think Mod Club should be worthy of mentioning, though it's more of a stage than a booth.

Though it's not around anymore, nothing came even close to the booth at Sonic.... I don't think you could ask for a better set up than that one.

The Glass is back , you will see it for Def mix as thats where hector is playing

forgot to mention the setup on the Next Level rocks too.

though it maybe due more to the factor that it's got such a summery feel to it

Didn't read through the repluies but I wanted to add that Rockwood has an amazing setup. The booth is in the top corner of the place with beautiful lighting, rock lined walls, and the booth is surrounded by a triangle of mirrors. Really puts the DJ booth in the spotlight.

O Ultra Lounge before the plexi glass went up around the booth.
'yeah, I'm kind of bias because I play here all the time. I love how it's right in the dance floor kinda like the gallery yet private enough you don't have everyone mobbing you. the only thing i don't like it the lack of space any more than 2 people won't work...even 2 is a stretch.

the plexi glass went up cause people were putting their drinks on the booth top. one night when Mark Oliver was playing, so dick head hit his record player. the next day the glass went up to stop that from happening again.
I love the front of the booth with the seat in it and how it's in the corner of the room instead of against a long wall like most booths are.
