What did you win?

They're giving away TVs, phones and stuff... no one wants a chance for free? At least you get a free rental no matter what.

I'm getting phone and internet installed next monday. just called rogers and requested that i get a wireless router and to my surprise they obliged!

Of course billing had no idea what type of modem it was other than "home networking gateway rental" so the dude transferred me to tech support, and the tech support guy said it's an SMC 8014WG router. I asked what wireless standard the modem had and he said he'd have to pass me through to the home networking team as his team had not been trained! I quickly googled it and found the answer myself (4-port 10/100 dual speed switch and 802.11g wireless access point) and told him not to worry as I already knew the answer. He laughed.

So anyways, bring on Monday!

Quit trying to inflate your Bell loving ego. However, Rogers can still eat my ass with a spoon.

I havent had any problems with the Home Phone

their high speed internet is WAY better than Bell's dsl piece of . I had Rogers at my old house..had sympatico for an year...stupid thing went down every week, and their techs took years to come out. So I switched back, suprisingly havent had any problems in the last few years ive had it

Their cellular plans are ANOTHER issue lol.
One of the reasons why iphone hasnt hit here is rogers aint budging to giving out an unlimited data plan. Im a heavy crackberry user, and if work didnt pay for it, Id rake up mortgage payments from using that bloody thing

They Both Suck.

I have rogers High-speed, and I "borrow" by neighbours DSL Sympatico.

Both are horrible haha

yeh just realised how pricey rogers wireless plans are. So i'm looking at Fido but man wireless plans in general here are a rip, and I thought it was bad in Australia lol.

I just got a call about upgrading my cable modem - anyone know if there is any downside to going through with it? I remember that sometimes after everyone switched modems, people who stayed on the old servers with the old modems would have ridiculous speeds, so I'm curious if I should do this or not.

New modem is plug and play. Just plug it in and connect.
The new modem allows Rogers to monitor your monthly usage better.
Not that I check.

NAH DUDE!!

Check out ing Solo's plans!!

www.solomobile.ca

One of the best deals in town cellular-wise IMO.

I switch from Rogers to them.

Check out in particular the "Talk & Text 35" Plan!! very very naice IMO.

I have a similar (older) one... "Student Talk & Text 35" Plan... exact same only I only get 1,000 texts a month free, instead of 2,500, BUT, I get free CALL DISPLAY. So, yeah, that makes up for the lost free msgs IMO not having to pay extra for display.

AND... the breat thing about Solo is that ALL their plans are on a contract OR MONTH TO MONTH basis!! No LT contracts (i refuse to commit myself for 3 ing years on a cell phone contract. Eff that.)

The downside of Solo is their severse lack fo phones... they only off 5 or 6, but if you fancey one of those, then you're not sacrificing anything.

Worked for me... got their NOKIA 6275i phone, which I STILL am in love with... such an awesome phone!! LOVE IT...

month to month, no contract and STILL the phone only cost me $50. What a ing deal. ing Fido was selling teh phone w/o a contract for ing 249$!!!
