Mark Oliver (pg. 3)

I have never walked away from a Mark Oliver set with disappointment. As many have said, this is why he’s the resident at one of the number #1 clubs in Canada. I’ve only been to one solo Mark Oliver night, and it was incredible. He reads his crowd, and he knows his crowd loves what he does, which fuels him on.

My best closing set memory: The closing set for Paul Oakenfold, November 2004…. Yes I have it on CD to keep the memory alive….but it was a phenomenal set.

I remember this summer- Eddie Halliwell, Mark closed that night off, and I was right up in front of the dj booth…and not wanting to leave that party. This just reminded me once again of why Oliver is where he is.
:D

how was his closing set in the main room at guv this weekend?

i heard he went on for the last 2 hours- which is odd, cuz i didnt see his name on the bill..?

I miss Oliver classic closing sets, whole guv main room in pure darkness with just the patio doors open, shining in the sunlight from the sun rising, pure bliss......

Mark played till 8am with a lil trip down memory lane.
effectively killed off any chance of me getting to zone in the morning.

"He's got the biggest record collection in the city and he's going to play everyone of them for you. Mark Olivers hottest leagues on 100.7fm" for some reason i remember dr. Trance saying this a long time ago

??

I tried to get back into KoolHaus at 630am and it was gated off and I could see that all the lights were on.

That was the time around when it ended...

Never have I once criticized mark's workload, or what he has done for the guv. Very rarely have I hated on any of his opening or closing sets.
My worries were about his extended sets (and yes, I admit they are long).
Have been a guv regular since it became the guv, and Mark Oliver used to pack the damn place on resident night in the middle of winter in a blizzard. His sets were multi-dimensional, but he made them work so damn well.
I honestly believed he had totally slipped back to a basic, one dimensional house DJ. And I based this on MANYYY MO only nights, and even on conversations he had with friends of mine.
This was not based on the event nights with his opening/closing sets. They were always well done.

Loving the fact that things seem to be back to how I remember them. Would love to be able to walk into a res only night and have a blast any time I feel like it.
