ohhh, ok. I didn't even look at the booth on my way out after the gallery closed. I just assumed Vinyl Junkies and Carlo Lio were doing the whole night.

What a weekend that was.....still remember it like yesterday...

As for Mark, he's one of the very best that Toronto has to offer... keep up the great work Mark and thanks for an Amazing set yet again....:gsmile:

I've never questioned his workload but I've also seen him play some truly crappy sets. Not to break the mood in here or anything, but it's also partially (mostly) because he gets booked pretty much everywhere in the city and has to 'cater to the crowd' which contributes to some really 'off' nights. Good guy though, down to earth and seems to have his head on his shoulders unlike some other sketchy goofs.

Great posts everyone. You all have to have your own opinions and your own likes..... afterall were human !! It would be boring without that.

Mark is an icon here in Toronto. The first DJ to bring Acid house into Canada and the longest running resident in Toronto. He can adapt to any room, with any crowd, He does his research and mixes are flawless. Probably the last DJ to play a full set on Vinyl along side Kenny Glasgow. A family man, a teacher who's whole life has been dedicated to music. He needs no introduction and anyone who listens to EDM owes Mark a High five and a Red bull next time you see him.

I miss Oliver classic closing sets, whole guv main room in pure darkness with just the patio doors open, shining in the sunlight from the sun rising, pure bliss......

That reminds me, I had this taken the night of Menno de Jong back in July, 7:00 AM MO Closing

When I was dating my bf from toronto (circa 2001-2), he took me to this place he loved called the guvernment.

Turns out, we went on a MO night and til this day, I give MO 100% credit for getting me into this scene/music. I had never been to a non-hip-hop club before that night and he blew me away both that night and for the 2 years I was living up there.

People in NYC still ask me who the resident is in the guv because they go up to see the main DJ and come back wondering who the hell the resident opener was that played even better than the main act. :D :D :D
