Welp, now that I'm all grows up, I've decided to let go of some of my adolescent ways.
Namely, I've taken my tongue ring out.
I've been thinking about it for a while, especially since working in the retirement home. But what sealed the deal was going to the dentist today after 13 years of not going, and having him tell me that my gums have receded on the inside.
It's not much, mind you (a whole millimeter, lol)...but enough that it's obviously going to continue being a problem. And well, my oral health is more important than a tongue stud.
Anyways, it feels really ing weird. 10 years with that thing in my mouth...even though I had the smallest jewelery possible, it feels like there's so much more room! (Go ahead and make a 'MORE ROOM FOR PENISES LOLOLOL joke, you s).
So, what things/choices from your teenage years have you let go of, if any?? |

My slim waistline :thepirate
alcohol. if i want it, i'll have it, but i dislike wine & beer and see no point to be faced every week now.
I guess there's more, but i can't really think, bar fashion. i've stopped 'needing' fashion brands, but that's so much cos i don't have the money, and only buy stuff when it really is the best value |

its hard to pinpoint one particular thing....mainly because i think a lot of things that people did as their teens that were considered "rebelous" or "childish" i did when i was in my early 20s.
i still have a drive to do a lot of things i did, like blow up w/ fireworks and throw things out of windows to the ground below....but alas, its just the environment i live in that prevents me from doing them.
if i was living in iowa/illinois; and not in the military in louisiana, i'd still be obnoxious and childish.
but i think it's because i'm afraid of growing old and not being as "fun" as i think i used to me. so i'm totally still trying (TRYING HARD) to live that lifestyle. |

I took my eyebrow ring out January 1st 2007. 'Twas fun but now it's time to look a little more professional.
A lot of the little things that I had kept in "memory boxes" I through out. It was a little hard to since I kept them for so long but it was time. Binders that I kept of boy band pictures/posters/clippings from my 11-14 year old years, I though out.
Even little things like the way I do my hair, clothes, posters and pictures on my walls are no more unless it's done in a framed collage or on a tack board. I used to keep all my movie ticket stubs, but I don't anymore. Just odd stuff I suppose. |

Yeah, same here. I used to be such a ing label whore. I spent 3 grand on clothes in ONE trip back when I was 19 and had come into some money. I wore some of that ONCE, and in fact...just gave it all away in the fall when I did my bi-annual closet cleaning.

I hear ya...well you're only as old as you feel. I'll never feel like an adult. I still don't.
Some days when I come home and look around at my apartment and all my ...and realize that I earned every cent of it, and that I am 100% independent, it kind of s me up a little, lol.
I just don't relate to being an "adult" at all. It's still weird to me that I do all these "adult" things...even though I consider myself a responsible and accountable person. |

Oh yeah! Me too. I guess that happened when I moved. My apartment would look pretty ing ghey/childish if I had it decorated like my bedroom at my mom's house. Plus, I have no storage for that stuff.
Fortunately, I'm not really attached to "things", so it wasn't hard to let go of it. |
