Best sound system (pg. 3)
View this Thread in Original format
Endlesswave
Boa, Sonic, Rio/Viva (when I used to go there), Koolhaus.

Outside of the country I'd have to vouche for Fabric as well, it's really well done in terms of sound and hell everything else. That back room has to be my fav though.

ok...... let's not go there, if you are speaking of skyy vodka room, the sound is good there by no where near perfect. The main rooms sound is disgusting, i dont like it at all.
Guv sound system is good, i would give it a 7.5/10 at least, its not as bad as everyone says it is.
Plus i would assume that it's very difficult to tweak it to perfection, The room has very high ceilings plus on major events it is rammed with people, all of this distorts the sound.

I suggest you to stay away from any threads where there is a discussion associated with sound quality and audio technicality.

Fack the new sound system at Rio(Viva) destroys anything I've seen in the past.

i agree that the drink's system sounds awesome. it was a bit too loud on saturday at times imo, but i was up there later when it was thinning out = less meat shield/sound muffling.

sonic had amazing sound :(. perfect acoustics in that room with a solid system.

CZ is just straight up loud. my ears always ring after being there lol.

can't speak to anything out of the country

Zone FTW, i did love the sound Sonic/Boa too.

1) Boa then Sonic
2) Viva
3) That's it for TO, everything else isn't set up as well here.

IMO, the pre-renovation Guv had a much cleaner sound than it does now. This past weekend it was just horrible. Really surprisingly bad considering the status of the club.

Good call on Aria, Skipper! I almost forgot about that. Cool booth there, too.

While I agree that the sound at Guv is...how should I put this...awful, I'm forced to laugh at all the back and forth going on here. First of all, quality sound is subjective. Short of walking the room and doing a proper spectral analysis, etc, you are all just expressing opinions, opinions based on your auditory range and preferences.

The bottom line here is that while some rooms are technically better than others, it's all about how YOU hear the sound. What frequencies have you lost, how often do you go out, where do you stand, have you ever really heard clean audio, etc., etc., etc...for someone like - I don't know, Spolitta to tell Geroin to avoid technical discussions because you didn't like or disagree with their contribution is just wrong. Also, retarded. How did you learn about audio? Are you 100% self taught? I'm sure somewhere down the line you've had a discussion about audio theory and I'm betting you've been wrong once or twice. Maybe you should have stopped trying to learn as well. Douche. This is a forum, not your classroom.

Geroin saying that guv is worthy of a 7.5/10 is subjective...if you disagree, that's nice. It is absolutely correct that putting bodies in a room alters the sound. It is absolutely correct that high ceilings change the way the sound propagates. Hell, the temperature changes the way the sound propagates.

Perhaps instead of dismissing Geroin's opinion, you should use some of that knowledge you think you have to help educate people...just a thought.
