I used to think a lot like you. IMO you're looking at things all wrong. You haven't stepped far enough outside of yourself. If you step back far enough, you'll find all aspects of reality to be nothing but a complete paradox.
Haven't you ever considered the fact that you're already dead, even as you sit and read this post? It's definitely understandable to look at things in such a dismal way, but you really don't have to, because none of this is even happening anyway.
It's possible to come to a point in which you can acknowledge the fact that every aspect of our existence is completely arbitrary, and that we (humanity) have been making this all up as we go along (assigning meaning to that which has no meaning), and still opt to participate in all of this to the best of your ability just for the fun of it.
