Well for us Dutchies' conceptions, it takes a while before I'm in the center of Amsterdam. The Americans will laugh their asses off when they hear how long it takes. The distances over here are a tiny bit shorter than they are used to :)

About the bar: i dont know the name of it but if you can find the Hotel de Europe, its 7 to 10 meters to the left of that door... you cant miss it as it has HUGE windows and you will be able to see this bar from the outside with all the bottles.

For the record, this is not my first time to Amsterdam - I've seen the tourist nonsense firsthand on more than one occasion, and though Myra and I will probably hit some of them up for her sake, I really don't need to have anything that obvious recommended to me.
