| I have a reason for doing this: I'M A SLOW TYPER! In a chatroom, I use "ur", "2", "u", "wanna", "gonna", etc. because people want to rush and want me to type quicker rather than let me check the spelling of every word. That's why I end up doing "^(corrected word)" a lot RIGHT after misspelling a word. Because people are arseholes and want (me) to hurry up. But, in a post, I WANT to type right and plus it's easier for others to read. Also, what if someone if translating everything you type and they get an error because YOU didn't spell the word properly? I can go on for a while about this but, you already know what I mean so, I guess I'm going to end this for now. Oh, by the way, this took me about 10 minutes to type, give or take... |

I've noticed this too! I run a rather large car orientated forum and the bad ones are:
crome (chrome)
breaks (brakes)
incurance (insurance)
bonet, bonett etc (bonnet)
relice (release)
I think the worst I've seen has to be:
"evry1 sed i was weird cos mines always crashin!f'uks up all the time.
if it sez no1s online or sez u have no1 on ur contacts list then set up anova account, sign in2 it then sign bak in2 ur ova 1 (thats y i got 2 hotmail addresses)& they'll all come bak agen!
if it dont let u sign in, u either gotta leave it 4 a bit cos its totally f'uked or download it agen...but the nu 1 crashes more than the old so i got the old 1 bak!
Have fun"

It's because English is a stupid language.
What other language has so many words that sound the same, but are written differently?
their/they're/there, right/write, night/knight, site/sight, said/sad, read/reed, team/teem, seam/seem, etc. etc. etc.
What other language has such weird spelling rules? I could write the word "fish" in English like this: "ghoti" and be absolutely correct, because:
gh = [f] as in laugh
o = [i] as women
ti = [sh] as in station
What other language abuses the alphabet to such an extent?! Try spelling "beautiful" and "daughter" correctly, for example.
In what other normal language is "a" pronounced like "ey"?
In what other normal language is "e" pronounced like "i"?
And in what other normal language is "i" pronounced like "ay"!!!

i started making these mistakes myself as well lately and it's starting to piss me off. my grammar used to be perfect. with English being my second language, the way i learned english was that i somehow learned grammar very well and still know it better than most of the native english speakers. oh well....doesn't matter....as long as people can understand me:toothless

CDs = Multiple Compact Disks (CDs is plural of CD)
CD's = As belonging to CD (i.e. Sarcoman's CDs)
People really have to learn to use proper English in their communication if they hope to be successfull in their professional careers. One of the things I hate most is people that use double negative phrases, such as:
I didn't do nothin' wrong (which when taken literaly means, I did something wrong, because you didn't do nothing wrong).
A lot of linquists (people who study languages) also are perturbed by Not-Un statements, such as "It's Not Uncommon....", why not just say "Its common" |

| Aye your right. But they're are lots of reasons why people didn't get a good education. Everybody's not as good at grammer as most of us are. People should spend less time on there computer and more time reding. I think their just lazy to. |
