Despite all of the negatives I mentioned, I still had a great time. I was lucky to score a spot two rows away from tiesto. If I was any further back, I'm sure I would have been miserable. Yeah it was so packed that it was impossible to dance, but there was more of a concert vibe anyway. You need to keep in mind that combining Tiesto and NYE would always result in an insane event. I heard that that TAO has the same problem...

By the way, other than youtube and the giant website, does anyone have any cool pics or vids they'd like to post?

regardless of all that went on...i still had a blast....but i guess im a tiesto junkie.....seen him over 20 times around the world...

cool pic i took of Sanchez's stage:

1. VIP was a complete waste of money. Got in just before 10PM and the line was already 30 min for a drink.

And the bartenders were just letting people cut who would tip them. So in the end of it, open bar means....drinks go to those that want to pay for them. Why would they not post a security guard to handle that?

2. Tiesto was Horrible! Same old anthems mixed with a bit of progressive avery few track. One of the few guys that will get away playing the same crap for the rest of his career. Never moving forward.

3. The sound and production was much better in the roger sanchez room. There was no bass and to much treble in tiesto's tent. And the sound from the 3rd tent was going directly into the back end of the tiesto tent creating a slap sound that was just stupid. I spent most of my night in sanchez's tent and waiting in line

4. def not worth 175. for a vip ticket, for the biggest Dj in the world on the biggest party night all year, i would expect much better.

5. However i still had a blast with all my friends being out and them not having high expectations and thinking that was the best night of their lives. Fun seeing all those people have a blast liek that

Great sanchez pic!

Some thoughts on the event.

- Tiesto was predictably rubbish, playing "the hits" rather than new material. Robbie Rivera's set was also an orgy of boredom. The nearly hour long stoppage by the fire marshal merely underscored the farce in the main tent.

- Roger Sanchez was absolutely sublime. Brilliant stuff. The atmosphere in his tent was the way it ought to be. Great sound quality and great track selection and virtually no muppets in tent number 2.

- The price of admission for VIP proved to be far too much. Next time the promoters might consider a few better and less costly DJs for what they probably paid Tiesto.

- The drink lines were another issue. Next time they should put those in a heated tent since people had to wait out long lines in the cold in order to get a drink; often watching people jump to the front because they previously bribed the bartenders with massive tips.

Well kids, that's kinda how that works. As a former bartender and bar manager I can tell you that $2.13/h doesn't pay the rent. And I'll even go so far as to tell you that if you're not tipping good luck getting another drink......

Look at it this way -- If some other guy was gonna give you $5 to wash his car and I was gonna give you $100, who's car would you wash?

that is a pretty stupid philosophy.

The bartender may get a $20 tip from the few he let come up and get drinks, but the entire line that was fed up watching him do it just stiffed him. doesnt make much sense if you are trying to make money
