i guess you havent ever been to ultra before...this is just the preliminary lineup...they will announce probably over a 100+ more djs...there will be MULTIPLE stages also, and the majority of them will be catering to the trance heads

So far saturday is my day...even though id rather not attend period..ever since they moved it from bayfront park i havent been back..bayfront was the !

and im sure ferry will be there...and i could only hope SvD would be there! I think he is great!

yeah it appears the whole trance area has yet to be announced, along with the breaks area. They lumped all of the DnB into phase 1 it seems, except for maybe a live act or two.

I'd like to see Adam Freeland added. Does it really matter if Ferry is added? He will be playing like 5 shows that week probably.

I think Ultra is just too pricey and brings the worst crowd...its better saving it for after hours parties

i'm really on the fence if i will go or not
hiram
there never is a trance stage. they divide the trance acts between the mainstage and the ultra stage. though i cant remember if theres been an ultra stage since the bayfront days. im thinking the trance acts will be on the mainstage over days one and two

I can only hope SVD and Infected mushroom are part of phase two but on friday. cuz Sat march 29 is looking like Sweedish house mafia night....:happy2:

ROFL!!?!!??!!?!? SVD not a good mixer?!?! Your joking right...? His mixing is on point perfect flawless. He tore Space apart and knows how to bring it. He is most def better than Tiesto and Armin Van Boring. He knows how to mix around genres.

I know he is getting added to the main stage in phase 2 or 3 no doubt! I hope they squeeze Halliwell or Marco V in.... Cosmic Gate or just Nic Chagall would be nice too.....

Bring in some Swedish House Mafia wassssssssup!

I really do think they are going to add more to the stages this yr with lights and effects it is after all their 10 yr!!!

Infected will have to be added. I mean headlining massives in the US was huge for them this year - with coachella among others. Also they bring out a huge international crowd. And - they own! haha.

But yea, trance is lacking so far. I woudnt want ferry back, rather have someone new like above and beyond or what not. Has to be a big name to fill up a stage sadly (id rather prefer smaller not top 10 names).

Im sure SVD will be there. Huge fanbase support during wmc for him.

Ill bet sasha and digweed will get another shot at mainstage due to rain last year and yet still having a crowd.

Most of the artists arnt trance catered. There are probably only 6 or so true trance acts. Most is House. If there was a trance stage or tent it would be more even. I think the mainstage concept is ridiculous. Screw having different genres on a large stage. Just set it up by genres. I mean trance gets screwed as every other stage or tent is genre based per say and trance is just in between other acts on main stage.

Bayfront is too small for Ultra now.......2006 they have a main stage and a live stage....last year i think they called the live stage the ultra stage

I agree with the SVD thing. Not sure what the big deal is around this guy. I think as with Tiesto for trance and people bagging on him for simply having good marketing and getting fools, SVD is the same. He almost has nothing, not a great mixer and yet has a huge fan base. I think for the most part its people (clearly wont admit it) who fell for the marketing.

Dude, you are seriously misinformed. Most of the people who post in support of SvD on these boards are people who have been fans of him since he was producing under aliases such as Sam Sharp, Filterfunk, Purple Haze, etc.

Keep in mind that Sander received a lot of initial attention because of his genuine attempts to bring a harder, techier, oftentimes house influenced sound into trance music. Productions like his mix of his 'SOS' and 'Dark Roast' certainly fueled his popularity but they were not the cause of his initial rise, which I believe was largely driven by a very well received Essential Mix preceded by a popular mix at Colourfest.

If you don't like him, that's fine - you're entitled to your own opinion. But don't chalk up his success to 'commercialism that preys on the weak minded' - you assume stupidity on the part of the people who like and listen to SvD, which, in reality, just makes you look stupid.

Stay in school.

I dont assume this with everyone. But i am relating this to the attacks in the trance genre with big names. I am the one who keeps saying its talent and not marketing that makes someone successfull. So now that a person like SVD is massive for his thing, i dont think people have the right to crash on the likes of armin or pvd etc. Its the same scenario. Many have supported the artsits i mentioned like SVD - in the start of the career. It isnt all marketing.

So if you all dont like the trance big namers, as you so clearly make a point it is ones own opinion. Dont say we are weak minded attracted to the marketing ploy of the dj.

Goggleman and Element-y : the supporters of all things TRANCE (without the use of marketing haha)!

i dont understand why you think the trance djs are just in between acts on the mainstage??? I love the fact that I can go to the mainstage and see Infected Mushroom, then have Sasha and Digweed come on immediately after...or Crystal Method, and then a more tech-house driven Junkie XL (which I hope will be back if I do attend)

Its good business... having all genres segregated, especially when there are big name djs in all genres..., if Carl Cox didnt have is own damn tent Id say bring his ass to the mainstage too and rock the out!
element-y
The trance is squished into main stage only and therefore there are less trance acts since they are only placed in the main stage and there are other genres in the main stage. Whereas most stages are grouped to genres. I dont think there should be a main stage - rather just stages. More spread and fair for all fans.
