Ron has my vote....America needs someone like him. He's more intent on focusing on the issues WITHIN the US versus what everyone around is thinking/doing.

I really like his viewpoints on health care....maybe now people who aren't working in giant corporations can get some decent health care!

He wants to put education back into the state's hands and abolish the useless department of education, give tax credits for both parents and teachers.....the educational system does not need to be funded or controlled by the federal government, that's just way too many children, schools to focus on and properly fund and regulate.

Plus Dr. Paul voted against the Real ID Act in March of 2005!

i'm glad you don't get a vote....have you actually listened to his domestic policy, it's ridiculous. He's so anti government he actually said he wants to get rid of every federal government agency. Whether he meant that literally or was playing to the peoples frustrations, that is a ridiculous notion. Anyone who can suggest something so stupid is a moron in my book and undeserving of serious consideration.

I do, however, like some of his foreign policy stances. The US government needs to be less intrusive in the foreign relations. We could save billions by recalling our military from foreign countries and eliminating our protectionist ways. There is no need for the US military to be the military for our allies. It's costly to US, and a major subsidy to countries that provide nothing to the american people.

I do get a vote actually and I do plan on voting after I educate myself on all of the candidates :)

That's one of the things I like most about Ron Paul are some of his foreign policy stances. The US government needs to start focusing on it's OWN country....not fixating it all on the rest of the world.

i hate to burst your bubble but it doesn't really matter who is elected cuz in the end they're nothing more than a figure head with no real decision making power.

on a lighter note; Obama gets my vote since hes the closest thing to a david palmer in years

Oh yeah? so you think there would have been an iraq war if, let's say, ron paul was the US president? The president has a ton of decision making power which may last far beyond his term as president. From judicial nominations to executive orders to treaty negotiations, the presidents yields far more power than any one person in the US government. Oh yeah, let us not forget his ability to strike down any federal law with the stroke of his pen (so long as 67 senators do not disagree with him).

Yeh lets pull all the troops home now, and then give everybody free healthcare...that is really gonna solve alot!:stongue:

Yes in Canada, Ireland and elsewhere you have universal healthcare, but what are the waiting periods like for operations? My wife is a nurse and sees Canadians comming down for basic operations in Chicago all the time because the waiting lists are so long! Plus where is the money for that gonna come from? Tax the rich? I work for rich people...most of us do! So if they get taxed more it will umbrella down to our pockets as well!

As for pulling the troops out it should be up to the military on the ground in Iraq making that decision, not a politition in Washington!
My best friend is in Iraq, and has been on and off since the start of the war, and he says if we leave now the "Islamists" will do nothing but regroup and try to attack us elsewhere!

None of these guys are perfect! Noone will ever be perfect! Everybody has different views on everything, we just have to choose the best possible choice! We take it for granted that we have not been attacked since 9/11, but they will try again. It is only a matter of time. I think Democrats are weak on defense, so my vote goes to a Republican....preferbly not Huckabee but if necessary!

Haha, scare tactics. Leave Iraq, leave the middle east. Go home, save money, save lives, and leave people to do their own business. Sound's like a recipe for success to me. It will not have instant effect, but hopefully over years, decades, and generations of non-intervention, maybe opinions will change, and these fundamentalists will loose will to attack, because they are not being attacked.

how can u say that? dude im from chicago as well and look at what the republicans have done in the past 8 years. YOU ARE NOT getting any wealthier and THEY definitely are. you are still working hard if not harder. our economy in sucks ass. after having such prosperity in the clinton era, we now have a 9 trillion dollar debt.. like wtf? i dont know how much you are worried about your status-maybe you are well off, but the middle class is slowly turning into the lower class, but the politicians and the people who are insanely rich are the only ones benefiting from the republicans. not that democrats are not benefiting either but their party actually helped america prosper not too long ago. now we r . the world hates us so much more, we hate each other (remember the Hurricane Katrina episode where the gov't was nowhere to be found), we r falling the apart. its a in joke

I thought we were talking about Iraqi's? We are not talking about the US funding Israel. The election issue does not concern that area, but rather cutting military endeavours in Iraq specifically. If that is what they are being taught in Iraq, would you blame them after 4 years of a horrible, illegal, and immoral war? It is the exact same message being broadcast on US television: 'kill the intruders, kill the enemy'. Only you guys call it 'news'.

You need to get some perspective.

And people wonder why the world hates the U.S. Wonderful thought process. I am relying on idea that through peace, and cooperation maybe the two sides can sort it out, while you go with the idea that since they are angry just blow 'em up. Get it through your head. No matter what you think, violence is not going to solve any of your problems. By resorting to it, you are simply following the very people you are condemning.
