I use to not like beer at all. Since I have traveled to Europe a few times and tasted what real beer taste like I'm now a beer freak. I'm just wondering what's everyone here favorite beers. Sorry but American beer sux.
My favorites are
Chimay- Red label
Ayinger- Brau-Weisse
Ceres- Strong ale (which I can not find anywhere here in the states) |

When I was in London last year, I sat at the bar of my hotel with another colleague. I had this exchange with one of the bartenders:
Bartender: "What do you want?"
Me: "Newcastle (Brown Ale)"
Bartender: "What's Newcastle?"
Me: (Wondering if I was actually in England) "You don't know Newcastle?!"
Bartender: "No, but I'll give you a beer that I think you'll enjoy"
Bartender goes over and hands me a bottle of Dos Equis (Really TY Mexican beer)
Me: (Brain exploded after seeing that bottle) "NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" :whip:  :whip:  :whip:
Bartender was smart to run away from me after seeing my reaction to that. |

| Chimay is good. I like Leffe, and Hoegaarden, and Duvel and other belgians that quench the thirst |

I'm not a huge fan of domestic beers. My favorite beer that I come back to again and again is Newcastle Brown Ale.
It's not the most 'exotic' of beers. But it definately serves it's purpose and then some... |

Chimay I got a box set for christmas I'm going to try out shortly, I'm pretty psyched for it!
As for domestic beers... If it's a micro-brew, then you're set. Here's some of my favorites (not in a particular order):
:D Sam Adams (esp. Cherry Wheat, Winter Ale)
:D NewCastle
:D Magic Hat (Fat Angel, #9)
:D Hoeegarden
:D Blue Moon
:D Purple Haze
:D Framboise (ultimate chick-killer drink)
:D Anything Cider-ish
Beers I hate:
:sadgreen: Corona
:sadgreen: Bud Light / Miller Light / Coors Light
:sadgreen: Heineken
It's rather short-sighted to say one doesn't like domestic beers, unless by that you mean anything you can get in a pitcher for less than $5 bucks. Micro-brews are great! |
