Whats up TA's! My first post of the new year, so before I forget HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!! :D
I just got back from 2 weeks in europe for the holidays and I am really looking forward to opening the club for BT this FRIDAY! He has been a major inspiration to me since the beginning of my DJ career and honestly even before that. This is going to be a great party and it is also my first performance of 2008.
Do you have any idea how hard it is for a TRANCE DJ to get booked in San Francisco these days?! I really need your support for this new year! Please come out this friday party with me and show your support!!!
I have a guestlist for this event so signup now! [ CLICK HERE ]
If you want to buy tickets then please use this link. [ BUY TICKETS ]
**the club is tracking my guestlist and ticket sales so either one helps**
Doors open at 9pm and I am opening the club. It's tough opening the room because the floor is empty BUT the good news is that I will be playing great tunes and you can buy drinks w/o waiting in line ;) so plan to get there early!
Thank you for your support! See you FRIDAY!

Victor Dinare's opening and J00F closing made up for it though :D Heard it was a similar set at Temple too... I'll try to go and give BT another shot. At least James Williams is opening :D
Alain be quick to get on the decks, BT was rude to J00F and Thomas Phan and gave them no warning that he was done and thought he was the finally :whip: |

i can expect his temple set to be . didn't he play for like 1 hour there? any time a touring dj is booked for an hour set, you can bank on it being crap. i've also heard mixed reviews on bt's performances in other places, i guess he's hit or miss. i've only seen him that once and he was playing very tech/electro with one laptop symphony innerlude at the end. |

maybe he's having emotional problems...isn't his daughter missing or something? :conf: (not much of a BT fan myself) but at least no one's charging $50 to see him this time.... |

It's difficult as a trance DJ to get a good opening gig unless you show that you are versatile with styles. If you are known as a pure trance DJ it's going to be tough to get booked as an opener to a trance DJ or just about any other DJ with the majority of major clubs.
This is just how I see it and my opinions only. Not representing anyone here. |

yeah you either have to have that versatility or real electricity behind the decks that generates a following that'll show up to the club early when you do (or ideally both qualities) in order to provide value to the club/promoter imo. take for example syd, taj and dirty, 3 djs who open for the top trance djs when they come to town. these guys spin trance, house, breaks, etc and switch it up regularly, which gives them a following in each genre and a real ear for music, not just trance. they can bring fans of different sounds into the fold and add variety to every party they spin at whereas a trance-only dj doesn't really add anything to an armin ticket. all the trance fans will be there regardless and now you have to worry about a dj who plays too much like the headliner. the most resilient and successful djs in the world hate being typecast into specific genres. just my 2 cents... |

he's daughter went missing before the performance out here in sf too.
doesn't BT play live though? haven't seen since planet new year and it was the worst thing i've ever heard. didn't even stick around for one song. but maybe this time it'll be better. my musical taste back in 01 isn't nearly what it is today. |
