i don't like watching scenes in films where the character is going embarrass himself, i tend to walk out the room to go to the bathroom or whatnot. having embarrassed myself on various homemovies in my childhood, it has become hard to see some stuff. |
LOL :stongue: I used to do that. Now I don't care. |

That's more of a reflex, I guess. I do the same. |

I flush public bathrooms with my foot, but only when I have opened the stall door for a quick escape while it flushes.
I put a 2-4 sheet thick layer of toilet paper on to all foreign toilets (any toilet that isn't mine), before I will sit on it.
Before I wash my hands, I get paper towels to put between my knees. This way, after I have washed my hands, I can use the paper towel as a buffer to turn the taps off, and open the door to leave (and also prevents my need to touch the paper towel crank when my hands are clean). |
Good practice, not really a mental disorder. |

i am a massive hoarder
when i was young i would collect business cards from random business until i had literally hundreds
also rocks, gemstones, shells, insects, random trinkets, maps, etc
now i primarily collect music, just as obsessively :p
also i collect flyers from parties everywhere and gallery exhibition flyers, as well as typefaces,
i have a ridiculous habit of cataloging all of my as well. you should see my music catalogs and the data i have put in them
i also shake my leg all the time. it annoys my girlfriend to no end
i share the embarassing movie scene thing as well lol |

Not really neurosis, but I always have my keys in my left pocket, and everything else in my right pocket.
My cash is organized. 1's in the front, then 5's, etc. They're all facing the same way and aligned properly. |

Probably several, most of which are fairly antisocial in that I seem to find flaws in other people and correct them to what I think is right and not what would make them 'happier' as a person. It takes a lot for most people to cope with as I always get my way unless they've got a particularly strong personality and sense of self.
Or tell me to just piss off! :haha:
Gotten 'less horrible' as I've gotten older and sort of leave it in the work environment otherwise I'll never get laid end up being "painfully incorrigible" at home...
I also have no intentions of aging gracefully, I will go down with a smoking luminous foundation in a pool of blood red lipstick and probably twitching from a botox overdose. |

-I can't sleep without a cover. Sometimes in summer when it's ridiculously humid in my room and I'm slowly dying I'll throw them off and try to sleep, but it doesn't happen. I have to get them back off the floor and suffer on.
-I hate having my feet exposed at the end of the bed. In summer as well. They feel horribly... exposed. |
Oh, I almost forgot that. And I also have to cover my ear when I'm in bed :p
It's funny, however, that once I started dating (and eventually sleeping at my girlfriend's house) I had to get used to sleeping in a different environment: my girlfriend didn't even have a fan, for example, so I had to get used to sleeping without the wind blowing in my face :p |

| Not sure if this counts as a neurosis, but I can't stand it when people leave the stickers that come on new TVs, some computers, other electronic devices - like the ones that advertise the features that each device has. Even worse though is that clear plastic they put on to keep the equipment from getting scratched. I've seen people leave those on for months and years after they've started using their electronics or watches, and it bugs the hell out of me. I try to peel them off when I can though :) |

I tried thinking of ones for myself for a long time but couldn't really come up with anything. I'm a pretty laid back person. Not particular about too many things, but I know everyone's got at least some neurosis or quirks about them so I'll keep thinking. In the meantime here are some great ones from people I know or have met..
- I know someone who's deathly afraid of umbrellas. He can't be within inches of an umbrella, especially if it's open!!
- I know someone who cant stand being touched in or around the belly button. Even when he sees someone else get their navel touched, even on tv he'll cringe and bug the out. It's pretty funny to witness.
- I know someone who has to organize things that are out of place, even in public places like record shops. If a CD isn't somewhere it belongs or if it's facing the wrong way he'll have to fix it.
- I know someone who has to do things in even or round numbers. If he's running laps he can't just stop at 3. It'd have to be either 2 or 4. If he's playing a videogame he won't be able to turn it off at the 17th level. He'd have to keep playing until at least 18 just because it's an even number. 15 would be okay too since it's a round number.
- I know someone who carries a full bottle of rubbing alcohol with him at all times and scrubs down his hands with it about every 10 or 15 minutes. |
