Your neuroses? (pg. 6)

The sound of saws drives me mad.
The noise when you swipe a Metro Card in the subway drives me mad as well.
People who take forever to leave a parking space while others are clearly waiting for it

I can only fall asleep while laying on my right side.
Inertia
wow you guys are freaks

Thankfully I'm largely free of this kind of thing. One area where I'm really particular though is when I'm sleeping. I don't know if you'd call it neurosis, but I have loads of things that need to be right when I'm sleeping. I've always struggled to sleep: I'm not one of those people who just switch on and off, even when I'm really tired, and I often lay awake for hours.

Some things:

-I've had the same pillow all my life. It's almost twenty years old now, and it has absolutely no structural integrity left. I can lay on one end of it with one ear and wrap it right round to the other ear, and it will stay. It's the softest pillow in the world. I'm so used to it I absolutely cannot sleep on new, firm pillows. If I do, I sleep with my head right on the edge, where it's thinnest.

-I have to hook one leg around the duvet. In the depths of winter, in the midst of summer. Always. I've tried keeping both legs under the covers, but I just can't sleep. I just think how weird my legs feel until I give in.

-I can't sleep without a cover. Sometimes in summer when it's ridiculously humid in my room and I'm slowly dying I'll throw them off and try to sleep, but it doesn't happen. I have to get them back off the floor and suffer on.

-I can't be too near the edge. Even if I'm completely on the mattress, I can tell when I'm near the edge because it dips slightly, and that drives me crazy.

-I can't sleep while laid on my front. I've heard it's bad for you (not sure why), but I can't stand it anyway.

-I hate having my feet exposed at the end of the bed. In summer as well. They feel horribly... exposed.

I'm a bit weird with my pillow. I love the smell of it as well. It's the most comforting smell in the world to me. Sometimes I will just pick it up, hug it and put my face in it to smell it, usually when I'm either really chilled or really stressed. My friends think I'm a lunatic for it. I remember I had about eight people in my room and we were all sat on the bed playing on my friend's Wii. My friend Chris kept acting like he was making moves on my pillow, like it was my girlfriend or something. Drove me ing insane.

...Sweet Jesus. I have a problem.

Yeah, I have the uneasy feeling I'll be sat on a couch telling all this to a psychiatrist in twenty years.

I had a friend that would ask me to take the cotton out of the asprin bottle because he hated it so much.

wow i never knew so many people could be afraid of cotton. it seems so harmless... yet it's so fun to chase RJT around the house threatening to touch him with cotton balls when i'm bored.
