djm 400 vs djm 800 sound quality?

i got big pants
im about to pick up a djm800 in a couple weeks, but my main gripe is the sound quality of the 800. i tried researching it, but there really wasnt much to it. even tried searching through all the threads on TA but to no avail.

when i fiddled around with a djm400, i noticed that the sound quality wasnt that great...seemed like it was very mid heavy. with that in mind, am i safe to assume that the 800 will sound a load better than the 400? i found topic on another board saying that they sound almost identical. any truth to this?

Pioneer claims they use the same audio circuitry. So I would assume the sound would be similar. The 800 should be fine though for sure, you see it in a lot of clubs and they seem to be just fine...

couldve been the speakers that the djm400 was hooked up to. when i fiddled around with it, they were hooked up to some jbl prx speakers.

400 isn't that great like others have mentioned but the 800 is fine for me.

The 400 and 800 HAVE to sound exactly the same, assuming they use the same circuitry as mentioned above.

In the 2 channel sub $500 market, the 400 is wonderful, IMO.

I've heard that the RCA Connectors have a worse sound than XLR or 1/4,
is there any true on this?
is it far worse, or just barely?

Thanks

XLR and TRS are balanced which equals better sound. I think it has to do with the waves of sound being in balance but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
