i can afford it too, i used to have pay as u go, and realized that was dumb to have a prepaid and a blackberry.. only way i'd get a prepaid again is if i knew i was going to lose it or break it..

now if i can only get internet for free...

I do!

I work from 730am - 4pm...

So If I need to make a long call or something like that I just use my office phone.

I don't really talk to ppl during the day. I usually talk to people on MSN/Facebook/TA/PM or txt messages.

I've always had 150 daytime minutes and never had an issue. and since my evenings start at 6pm its helpful.

I'd saying majority of my phone usuage is on the weekend between 8pm - 8am haha :P

i hear you :)
and when i'm home, I use my home phone to make calls
so really, prepaid (and your plan) are ideal
my roommate is paying at least $50/month for the phone she hardly uses as well

Which carrier are you with, if you don't mind me asking?

I'd like a cheap data option as well.

Right now I'm using an 8700, but am looking to move to the Curve to get multimedia capabilities.

The 8800 vs the Curve, I've been comparing - and I don't know what the pros/cons are of each.

Any thoughts?

Curve. No question about it. The keyboard alone makes the Curve more worth it. If you get to play with both, try typing "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" with both, and see with which keyboard you will mess up more.

I have a GSM HTC Touch "XL" (Elfin).

I broke the screen (don't ask).

Rogers replaced it.

The replacement is in French.

I can't just take it back to a store.

I have to mail it back to them.

I need this thing like 3 friggin weeks ago.

I love the phone though.

It is my scheduler, my GPS navigator, my phone (obviously), my task manager, my camera, my last-minute-oh-god-I-can't-get-to-a-CAD-workstation .dwg file editor, and everything oh I love it so much.

My plan is as follows:

250 daytime minutes
Unlimited evenings/weekends at 5pm
2500 outgoing text messages, unlimited incoming
1000 picture/video messages
Voicemail
Name Display
Whocalled
Caller ID
5MB internet (I use this for the weather widget)

$30/mo + sys acc. + 911 + tax.

Not bad.

PS: Those of you with a Touch: Get the SPB Fullscreen Keyboard. Its like $15 or something and worth every friggin penny.

I have a Nokia E62 from Fido. I have no opinion on it!

Works great. I much prefer iGo 2006 (with the newest maps, of course) over TomTom.

GPS on a Cell phone actually isn't to bad.

You buy and Bluetooth device that will accept a GPS signal, and all you need to do is download some time of mapping software for your cellphone (assuming that it has the proper OS for downloading software).
