I hated office 2--7 at first with those weird menus. But then I lost my disk for 2003 so I had to stick with 2007. It has a steep learning curve, but after you are used to it, it is very very easy to use.

Just give it a while and you will see the power. They added a lot more to excel, which is nice if you use it a lot.

I was just about to add this. It is only a steep curve for the first day or so. Everything is placed where you logically think it is.... just suck it up (to all of the haters) and learn the gui.

There are so many new additions that are extremely beneficial - especially in a work place setting.

Why does it suck? I have the newest version and it's pretty good. I certainly don't like the new MS office

Too bad Office 08 for Mac is buggy as hell. I'm waiting for an update already...:whip:

They oversimplified it to the point where it's unusable.

On a side note, most universities offer the newest version of Office, free of charge. You just have to know where to look and who to ask. Totally legal, too!

for srsly....there's no more drop down menus...where the hell is my file/edit/format/data/tools !?!?!?!?!?

i hate that it's all icons :(

ps, i got it for $21 through work (.mil addy ;))

re-post from like august of last year.

o2k7 blows, there's actually a company that makes a plug-in for it that turns off the retarted ribbon cable and puts it back into "file" "edit" etc style.

I hate vista/o2k7 . Probably will save some dough up and switch to Apple Air sometime soon.

tbills: how do you not like a more dynamic and task oriented interface?

office 2k7's ribbon interface is what people who use it long enough rave about. why? they love having less to thumb through for basic stuff. less to figure out. its very intuitive. it adapts to the task at hand. right click on a picture, the picture stuff is immediately above the mouse cursor at easy reach. right click on text, a similar thing happens. task oriented is much quicker and faster for the end user. get used to it. thats the way things are moving.
