sucks in a small environment like that... you probably want to keep good relations, so i assume you'd like to avoid the 'legal' avenues for now.

most definitely speak up and start a paper trail now! (both your written 'complaint' and his written reply). good luck!

You need to speak up and notate what time you spoke to him and what day. Just in case you have problems in the future. Always good to have documentation. If you can shoot him an email that's even better.

Edit: what 2Tall said about the paper trail. Fo sho.

I had a girlfriend who didn't get paid properly on her commissions. She had to sue the company unfortunately. Thankfully she had documentation so she won the case.

SPEAK UP Mecca! :whip:

It's almost payday again!

Say something. I don't know what your pay schedule is, but if you were supposed to be paid and you weren't, it's not unprofessional at all to ask about it.

Then again with small companies, especially if you're doing consulting, you may get paid every month and typically a month or 2 after you start with them. J00 n33d b33r! good luck

from what i hear, labor board is actually one of the more responsive and helpful govt agencies. and they might also let you in on some of the other technicalities like getting interest on back salary and getting extra compensation via penalties to your boss. but once again, not sure if i would personally go there just yet...

been there! he's taking the risk being the business owner, part of that is paying people on time without the company being paid first. if you were on comission then thats understandable but you're not, you've shown up to work everyday and done your job and you need to be compensated.

speak up dude because if this happens again he'll think he has breathing room over you.

trust me i've been burned, it sucks.

I still haven't gotten paid for my New Years gig. But I'm not rushing the promoter as he takes care of me all the time. The difference was that NYE was a concert, so it takes 1 1/2 months for checks to be cut. That's the only problem with big gigs. I know I'll get paid though.

yay thanks guys... i wrote him an email...

yes i've been showing up to work... i get paid by weekly, and Trin is right.. it's almost pay day again!!!

and im not on commision... i guess what i need to do is just ask him about it..

M3cca has spoken up! :clown:
