Capello's England Squad Named

:( I'm so upset Beckham hasn't been named! :stongue: Keep in LA you ing wannabe American Celebrity.

I'm pissed off Green wasn't picked as one of the goalkeepers, considering Carson's Richard Wright esqe debut and sicknote Kirkland.

Midfield, Downing and Jenas :(

Upfront, glad Agbonlahor's in there. Where the is Ashton though? The guy one hundred times better then Crouch who cannot head a ball to save his life.

More importantly here is the rest.

Goalkeepers: David James (Portsmouth), Scott Carson (Liverpool on loan at Aston Villa), Chris Kirkland (Wigan)

Defenders: Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Curtis Davies (West Brom on loan at Aston Villa), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Ledley King (Tottenham Hotspur), Nicky Shorey (Reading), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Micah Richards (Manchester City), Matthew Upson (West Ham United), Jonathan Woodgate (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham Hotspur), Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), David Bentley (Blackburn Rovers)

Forwards: Emile Heskey (Wigan Athletic), Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Michael Owen (Newcastle United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Peter Crouch (Liverpool)

David james has consistently been the best english goalkeeper in the english premier league for the last 2 years. I think that probably had more to do with it rather than just one game.

robert green should be in there instead of scott carson tho.

seriously? Michael Owen?... i mean seriously? wtf is cabbageman capello smoking?

definitely true ;) but turning in a pretty good performance while the cabbage man was in the stands certainly didn't hurt

yep. So much for capello getting strict and dropping the stars he will fail just like all the other managers have done. Hargreaves? has barely played any games owen? hardly played but yet he picks crouch who rarely gets a game for liverpool.
verndogs
In defense of Hargreaves

He did start against the spurs in the FA cup match last weekend and singlehandedly frustrated them.

Carrick on the other hand has been hit or miss. More miss that hit recently IMO.

Adding Owen, Crouch is just :wtf:

When is the first match they will play with this squad?
