Canon 400D Enthusiast Lens Kit with a Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens.

Purchased from D-D Photographics in Sydney.

Bought a Manfrotto 385B tripod and a $30 CAD monopod a few weeks ago. I went to shoot some waterfalls yesterday and lost the camera plate for the Manfrotto so now I gotta go find a replacement

I just got Canon Rebel XTi (same as EOS 400D) with regular lens it comes with. So far I am only getting into photography. Here some pictures i've taken:

They might be a bit too dark to some, but that was my try to get deeper colors. They look great in full resolution on my 19" LG Flatron wide panel LCD. I will be buying better lens for this camera, especially one with stiffer and more precise manual focus ring. Anyone got some advice on getting better glass for this cam? Help me out. ;) BTW, the tree pic above was shot in RAW and then color adjusted, slightly sharpened in Digital Photo Professional that came with the XTi. I used Photoshop to resize and compreess into jpegs to be posted here.

Those are really nice pics mate :)

To help with your question, there are soooooooo many different types of lenses for Canon DSLRs. What sort of focal length are you looking for, or what kind of photography are you into? And, more importantly, what's your budget? :p If you're loaded, I recommend going for the Canon L series lenses, they're just ing awesome. But pricey :(

that's just the name of the camera + lens package. They use "enthusiast" to indicate that it's different from the stock standard lens.

Yeah, I got the same kit lens with mine, along with a 70-300mm, which I promptly sold to help pay for a 75-300mm with IS. Makes such a huge difference. I've got the 18-55mm with IS now too, but I just can't seem to get rid of the old kit lens, no one seems to want to buy it :p
