intervention Jeff? ;)
I like to hit the casino once in awhile. Each time I have gone in the last year I have walked in with 20$ and within 10 min walked out with 100$ or more. It has been an easy way for me to increase the $$ in my pocket, but I never used to play that way. I used to lose all the time hence why I am more careful now. :) |

I used to be REALLY REALLY addicted to gambling...
In residence I used to play poker every single day for about 4-5 hours. Then during the summer that year for two months straight every single night my friends and I would take turns driving to Casino Niagara (From Mississauga)and play poker for a good 12 hours or so, all the dealers and pit managers knew us by name, and we always got comped for food everyday... Oh I missed those days :(
Here are some nice gambling stories I've had...
Sic Bo: Started with 200$ ended up with $1400 in 6 minutes
Another time Started with $50 walked out with 900 in 10 min.
Pai Gow: Started with $50 made $1300 in about 40 min.
Hold-em: Biggest Pot I've taken was $700... nut flush vs K high flush :D |

| for some reason I have a disgustingly good record at casinos....at least 90% of the time I walk out even or up. I go in with three hundred dollars and I leave when its gone or when I get bored. I've been on two vacations where I won enough money to pay for the entire vacations. |

haha...maybe!
I'm pretty good though. I know my limits, and only bring cash to the Casino w/ me. No Debit/Credit Card.
Plus it helps when you always win doesn't it? lol
I'm up $5 in my horse racing so far :( Haven't been doing well haha
But I have faith in PAIR OF KINGS for my next race!! WooHoo |

Gambling on a large scale just really bothers me to witness generally.
I cant enjoy myself in casinos, they just depress/unsettle me. I see too many opportunities for ppl to spiral out of control and end up in bad situations. I had 2 close friends in public school whose parents (one his father, the other his mother) nearly destroy their lives with the debt and trouble they got into. I think it was witnessing what it did the the family/household life of my friend is what bothered me the most at that time. . . :S
When I think of gambling (like in casinos, or in LARGE STAKES serious poker matches, say) I never seem to see the money i or someone else could make/win. I only tend to see the money I or someone else could lose -- and I see that as a waste, not worth the chance to make additional money generally.
Ive never needed cash so bad I've wanted to risk it to acquire more. And I know I'd really upset if I lost money I had had.
Essetinally I'd be MORE UPSET at losing an amount of money than I'd be HAPPY at winning that same amount of money.
Plus, I see the whole slippery slope side of things, bc of the past situations w/ my friends (TV shows and movies do nothing to help generally change this image i have either). Id hate myself if I ever became that person addicted to gambling and ruining his life. :(
Oh, and it helps that I dont enjoy playing cards too! haha or slots, etc.
Only card game i can truly stand is Euchre (AND I LOVE IT). . . but all other games bore and kinda annoy me after 5 mins or less.
In the past I have played the odd $20 buy in game of 31 though. That one isnt too bad I guess.
And I'll often get convinced/decide to play poker so long as its strip poker (with beer generally). Then an eliment to that game has be added that I enjoy (ratios in proper proportions, of course ;);)) |

I went and played some roulette after Tiesto...looking all disgusting and dehydrated. In 30 minutes i was up about $1,000.00 and decided that was enough. |

damn... I don't know how to play Roulette properly, my friend taught me how to cover half the wheel with less than half the cost, but I forgot the bet pattern, basically you should be up a few bucks every spin..
PS. Let it ride, 3 card poker are the worst games to play in a casino |

All those games are retarded. The odds are such in favour of the house.
Even Carribean Stud. I stay away from all of those.
Stick to Poker. The only time the casino makes money off me is from the rake.
I'd rather have another gambler take the money than the casino.
However, I do like to play a little Casino War every once in a while. Me and my buddy would get bored at the Montreal Casino so we'd play War haha. So much fun...
But I do play roulette at the end of the night if I haven't made much money. So i'm up like $40-$50 bucks...its not really worth it. So we pretty much play double or nothing red/black... |

To me...gambling isn't about the Money. I would never put myself into debt or bet my savings.
I only bet my disposable income and what I would feel comfortable losing.
The only reason why I gamble is for that adrenaline rush you get when all of your money is on the line. That rush you get when you say those two little words "ALL IN" is totally worth it! |
