Dude if your gonna support the fact that Oakenfold has lost complete interest in the music dont talk out of your ass and say that beatmatching and mixing is easier than pretending to do it.

if oakenfold hadnt done what he did back in the glory days, you probably wouldnt be as keen on trance as you are. if anthing you should be thanking him for pushing it into the public domain.

oakenfold is a legend and we all (as true trance fans) owe him a lot.

I dont owe him . Thanking him for what? ripping off peoples money to support his cocaine and plastic surgery condition? Ya he might have been decent back 10 years ago, but thats the PAST. No one gives a anymore about the past. The biggest artist/djs today ALL think about the future. You think tiesto just sits at home all day and thinks of his song lethal industry and is still stuck in the past?

oakenfold is a head. if you dont give a anymore then dont ing do it.

ya man, really lit a fire up my ass. He would go pretend to mix, walk back move around all wierd, sit down with his back towards the crowd and talk to his manager. What a ing douche.

Well yeah, with djs using laptops these days, it could be pretty hard to tell if a mix is simply playing back or being done live. Even with cd mixers, it's easy to just play a 3 or 4 song pre-mixed section of music if the dj wants a break.

It's understandable. If nobody cares or can tell whether a dj is doing his job properly or not, if you can get paid heaps to just stand around and look bored, why not do it? If people will pay you for it, they're the idiots, not you. As long as he keeps getting paid I don't see any reason why he'd change what he's doing. From the club's/ promoter's point of view, they don't care if he doesn't dj, as long as the crowds come and pay their money. And if the crowds turn up and can't tell or don't care, then the system works.

Yeah, I know some djs who don't dj properly and that may influence others to also think "well, I'm going to get paid for doing nothing too".

Hmm, I might start dj'ing soon...I'll just have to get this year's set worked out...
Limit
i'm not agreeing with coaknfold( and he might be a coke head...not sure) BUT MAYBE AND i SAY MAYBE, he is starting to lose his hearing and doesn't want to damage it more by the headphones. Its not like he can go and start working at some other job in an office or something...the guy still has to pay the bills(coke habit) and his cash cow is djing....or playing mixed sets..whatever. I did that once...I had a premixed 12" that was like 15 minutes long...and I wanted to go for a smoke..so I popped it on. i nver liked coaknfold much though...but you have to respect the history i guess.

Can this really be true ? I don't know.
The man was once the no.1 dj in the world, His productions are but with the amount of money he has made, he could retire gracefully than ruin his name....
We need some evidence................

I really liked 'Bullet in the gun', and the track with crazy town was pretty neat as well :).

Too bad. Oh well, he already ruined it on last year's trance energy from what I've heard.

id bet money on the dancefloor being full. and thats all that counts really - people enjoying themselves to good music. i mean, were you really have fun standing behind him watching his every move and noticing all his problems? the guy doesnt have to jump around and pretend to be happy. he has paid his dues and the only bashers are the nerds. if you had been on the dancefloor you would be none the wiser and probably of had a good time.
