This is not a question of gender but a question of exposure. The vast majority of the general public does not like any of the things most of the members here do regardless of wether they have an innie or an outie. You can't like what you don't know.

I wasn't asking whether people think that girls like ty / popular music. I was wondering about the fact that even when girls like a lot of good or at least non-popular music, it tends to be stuff with vocals, at least in my experience. |

| It can also depend on where you are from. From spending the last 2 months in Germany i can tell you there are a ton of women who love techno. |

It's true, girls PREFER vocals, EVERYTIME. try this at home, put on a monotone techno track, observe girls not liking it, then put a hip hop acapella over it and watch them go nuts. works everytime.
That's a quick fix hack, the real solution is to stop being a ty dj: First of all stop playing your ty prog and minimal repetitive bull that the only ones who dig it is you and your nerdy friends and "supporters" that came out to your "gig". Start playing music that other people in the room like, not just music you like. Stop trying to recreate what you saw on a youtube video of some other dj's set. These are the basics of dj'ing. Most people getting into dj'ing they skip the basics and go right to the advanced stuff, you need to get the floor moving first before you start playing what YOU want. If you want people to get into a style of music they've never heard before, start off with something they HAVE heard before and then work your way into the weird (to them) stuff. |
