Not only girls but people in general prefer music with vocals. That's because it's more accessible and appealing. The reason why many girl don't dig wordless EDM is because they aren't exposed to it as much as we imo. From what I have seen most girls tend not to search for their music but rather listen to the radio/tv/whatever for the most recent hits. Of course there are a lot of exceptions but in general imo that's the tendency. We, on the other hand, when we like what we hear try to find more of it and eventually find stuff which aren't mainstream. Or at least in most cases is like that imo. Anyway....

its not because girls are not exposed to it as much, because the same phenomenon happens in areas where wordless music is more dominant. this is excerpt from villalobos interview:

| One thing that's interesting is that in dance music, many of the most renowned female DJs/producers are found in the minimal scene. Wonder why this is? I'd have always figured that females would be more into house and vocal trance. |
