| my wife gets bored with beats that don't have vocals is what she says, except for some big names like Armin/PVD/Tiesto she likes some of the stuff they spin that has no vocals but really she prefers vocal trance and prefers breaks with vocals over any trance altogether. the way i look at it, hey i'm lucky she's an EDM fan :gsmile: she's the reason why i spin so much vocal, she IS the boss after all :D |

Right Brain (Emotional) vs Left Brain (Logical)
Females are predominantly Right-Brained and males are predominantly Left-Brained.
Words are logical. Music is emotional.
Therefore, females are drawn to and connect with what is logical, while males are drawn to and connect with what is emotional.

Also, not sure if anyone brought this up already...but why is that chicks are also less likely to be nerds about music? Like, they're less likely to dig deeper and find out more about the music they like, seek out similar artists, etc., etc.?
I have girlfriends who've been in the rave/party/club scene for well over 10 years, and they still know all about the music they enjoy every weekend. They still barely know any DJs or producers names, prolly couldn't tell you the differences between trance and techno, and just generally don't make much effort outside of going to the club every weekend.

I think that many girls (but certainly not all) are less interested in the music itself than in the social events that surround it and how it lets them relate to other people.
Not sure why that is, and I don't really feel like bringing up tired tropes like "guys are interested in things and girls are interested in people."
