I don't really care for MGS, but I will prolly pick one up for Grand Tourismo.

Well if Im going to get a bluray player it will be this. The only game I really care to own is GT5.

I really, really have never seen the appeal in the GT series.
Then again, I hate almost all "realistic" sims. I'm playing games ffs, don't make it just like driving cars in real life.
The new one looks absolutely gorgeous. Not often you get to go balls to the wall in the Alps with a 60,000$ car. I get bored after a few laps in GT4, I'm not into cars much, but for visual appeal alone I really want to play GT5. The in car view, with the sun moving around the interior, amazingly detailed courses, and awesome weather...dunno if you've seen some of the videos online, but it looks beautiful. I'm really excited to see how detailed some of the classic courses like Paris Opera, Monaco and others are rendered, because from what they've released so far it looks like the level of detail is nuts.

how will this end a war that is already over? By the time PS3 gains some momentum, the next XBOX will be out.:gsmile:

my initial thoughts exactly. but the one thing I've learned about the video game industry is that at times it can be virtually unpredictable. who the hell would've guessed nintendo would have made such a huge impact with the wii after such a lackluster performance from their previous console
soooooooo, lets just wait and see how things play ooot

All that and there's only like... 3 "great" games for it.

After the initial controller reveal at TGS '05 and the success of the DS, I knew that the Wii would be extremely successful. The fact the PSP didn't wipe the floor with the DS (in fact, the opposite happened) and that the DS is getting mainline sequels to some of the biggest games ever (Dragon Quest 9) was probably the biggest shock for me in the past 5 years or so.

so finally: 1,5 years after the ps3 launch they finally got something worth the money. I hope for them that it isn't too late. The deal is good but they have to increase their game on marketing and MGS and GT have to be quality games or else......
Still DS going strong and wii having brawl/mario kart + the hype. as a marketeer and game-enthousiast it's fun to keep track of the market developments in the game industry.
On a personal level: A always hated race games and the only good GTA game was the first one with the top down view. Yeah i aimply prefer bouncing on mushrooms with a plumber.
