DAY 1 of this massive weekend, CL and J00F took the roof off of ruby skye. This is a combo for the record books. Got to the club as Dirty was wrapping up his mix closed out with his own rework of "orbital - halycon" christopher put on a solid performance and j00f was still going strong when I left about 15 mins ago. Amazing Night!
Hope you all had as much fun as I did :D |

Great opening set by Taj & Dirtyhertz as always! Sasha vs Underworld - Xpander vs Cowgirl was
CL started off good but felt like it went no where... wouldnt say it bore me but i couldnt get into it :o
J:eyes:F pretty much played the best trance set I've heard at Ruby Skye! First track gave me goose bumps along with a natural high and continued until the very end :D Made me forget how tired I was from all this past weeks partying in the city.
Can't wait for J:eyes:F and Digital Blonde US gig(s) ;) :happy2: |

CL had an amazing set with the different styles of tunes that totally I was "What track is that!!" One of CL best performances that I've heard this year!! Sorry Rizo, CL's set was way more unique than Joof IMO but that's my own personal taste. :) He started with some banging tracks then went into some SICK Psy prog "Ground Control" and banging electro house then brought it back up with some powerful psy then epic tunes that I've always known CL for. Joof kept the energy level going right after with some bangin Psy. Great job from everyone including Dirtyhertz. I didnt get to hear Taj but I heard the both of them were solid!! :)
We need CL to come back to 1015 again!! :D :D TAJ!!
Yahel tonight for some more Psy Madness!! |

Got to Ruby around 10:45am to a slowly filling room...
Taj's & Reza's opening set was siccccccccckkkkk.....Love when I see an opening act that understands things....and love it more when they don't play the safe route of just going with a low BPM and a progressive style building up....they played lots of bangin' stuff, but in a manner that fit great witht he night! I did have a couple "this may be a little too much" moments, but they never pushed it past the point...they rode the fine line. I was loving it. Crowd was loving it.
Crowd continued to slowly get fuller. By midnight it was getting pretty busy. Then at 12:30am this whole late rush came and after that point it was starting to feel packed trying to walk through the floor....
CL came on at midnight. I thought CL started off real strong. REAL strong. But then it seemed almost as if he got comfortable and the music didn't go much anywhere for awhile. So I agree with some others here....sorry Ish. His set wasn't bad, just it was a bit stagnant, IMO...though he ended off strong much like how he started. I just wish I was taken on more of a bit of a journey. I also heard from a couple people that he was playing tracks a bit long...they wanted him to shorten up the tracks so they didn't get so drawn out.
J00F easily stole the night within two tracks of his set. I don't think the Ruby sound system was abused so much. Def not the best set I've heard from him live (Jan 1, 2005 destroys any other site I've heard from him live...oh what a magical night at Ten15 with an amazing crowd considering it was Jan 1 and it going off so well J00F played like two hours longer than he was supposed to...5 hour set!), but pretty f'n awesome nonetheless. But he had some amazing moments.....he made my bones hurt.
Usual pack of crowd left after the alcohol started wearing off, but the floor stayed pretty bumpin until the very end.
Sarah (gypsygirl) says CL was better last night than in LA but J00F was better in LA.
I had a blast. Still not sure what I'm gonna do tonight. We'll see. |

Someone farting and stinking up the stage was prety gross at the end of Taj and Dirty's set. It kept happening at different moments of the night. Everyone kept looking at each other and I heard people randomly asking one another
"who in farted?"
That and Dirty in my face screaming Focus, Focus all night. I didnt get it until now what he was trying to say was the opposite of Blurr.
Im not a big drinker, and had enough of my share of drinks last night to make an alcoholic happy. note to self: deny drinks from anyone else tonight... was wayy DrUnK. I was outta hand last night...
Was excellent meeting Gypsy Girl there last night and all the TA's in the house was cool. Greeted John and he mentioned he saw alot of people from 1015 there last night.
Good sets from everyone, Taj and Dirty killed opening crowd when I got there steadly built up and was soaking up the tunage from both of em., favortie set for me heard was from JOOF, start to finish, I loved his opening track, the synth riff in the building and buildup going in.
I got most of his last final tracks on Video, about a good 25 minutes worth so ill post that after I clean it up. Photos and stuff too of people taking my camera and snapping random photos. I'll post some of those up and delete a few naughty ones I got on my camera that I didnt have an explanation for when Lynn asked me this morning. Thanks tho, was a pleasent suprise from a few ladies on my camera when I went through pics!
Got home this morning at 6ish, preparing for round 2 tonight at 1015 After hearing CL and JOOF last night, my I dont have PSY outta my system just yet!
Some of you were asking where Artimus was. He locked his keys in the car, hence was unable to make it last night. |

hey guys!!! man im hurting... running on 1 hour of sleep. got home at about 5am then sleep a bit and went to class at 8:30 am already
what a night... im sure u guys can see that, i was going nuts man when j00f came on the beatdown all da way with tommy and rafal... OH NUTS!!!
i came up with a new slogan after last night
"CL Thrills but J00f Kills" :toothless :toothless
the second time i see this duo and i would say both of the dropped a better set than when i first saw em in LA... CL definetly plays more psy trance, and most importantly prog psy... i totally dig his set last night, one electro song...i can tolerate that! and he stopped playing Pascal Feliz/Nenes - Platinum... Thank the Gods for that!!! Thank you!!!
the thing that i notice is that the sound quality was not good when CL was playing...was a lot better when j00f came on...
the energy definitely wasnt quite there when CL came on... i wish the crowd woulda been crazier, but it seems to me that most people are waiting for j00f to play.
J00f as always, but more than usual this is the best j00f set ive ever seen. There are no cheesy psy elements, he usually like to play too much infected mushroom songs... but last night was all business man, it was deep dark and twisted J00f style... i brought a bunch of new j00fers in the mix, and they all got baptized by me last night!
glad to see these two again, i just wish that it has the FUNKTION 1 of Vanguard in ruby skye, man ... those speakers in ruby didnt do them justice at all...\\
gypsygirl thanks for coming we enjoy your company... |
